Chapter 36 of 161

Español Deutsch
GEJ 1.36.1

John then asks Me, ‘Lord, surely I must record this? This is more than the sign at Cana! This is truly a sign of where You have come from!’

GEJ 1.36.2

I say, ‘Leave this too unrecorded, for what you record is a testimony for the world. But the world does not have the understanding to grasp it. What use would your effort be, then? Do you think the world will believe such a thing? Look, those who are here believe it because they see it, but the world, which walks in darkness, would never believe that such a thing happened here, for night cannot possibly imagine the works of light. But if you were to tell it of the works of light, it would laugh at you and in the end begin to mock you. So, however great it may be, record it only in your heart, but not on the smooth animal skin.

GEJ 1.36.3

‘But a time will indeed come when all these secret things are to be revealed to the world. Before then, however, very many trees will still have to let their unripe fruit fall from their branches! For look, the trees have set much fruit, and scarcely a third of it will reach maturity! But the two fallen thirds must first be trampled, rot, and wither, so that a rain may then dissolve them and a mighty wind drive them into the trunk for a second birth!’

GEJ 1.36.4

John says, ‘Lord, this is too deep—who can grasp it?’

GEJ 1.36.5

I say, ‘That is not at all necessary either. It is enough that you believe and love Me; the deeper understanding of all this will come when the Spirit of truth is poured out upon you. But before that happens, despite all these signs, some of you will still take offense at Me and at My name!

GEJ 1.36.6

‘For all of you still have an entirely mistaken conception of the Messiah and His kingdom, and it will take much before you come to understand this clearly.

GEJ 1.36.7

‘The Messiah’s kingdom will not be a kingdom of this world, but a kingdom of the spirit and of truth eternally in My Father’s kingdom, and it will never have an end, forever and ever! Whoever is received into this kingdom will have eternal life, and this life will be a blessedness of which no one has ever seen, heard, or felt anything in their heart.’

GEJ 1.36.8

Peter, who had long remained silent, says, ‘Lord, who will become capable of such blessedness?’

GEJ 1.36.9

I say, ‘Dear friend, look, it is already late today, and our bodies need rest so that they may be strong for work tomorrow. Therefore let us bring this day to a close and walk in good light tomorrow. Let each one therefore find a resting place and rest there fully, for tomorrow we shall have much to do.’

GEJ 1.36.10

At this everyone returns to their natural state and again sees the walls of the hall, beside which very good resting couches—a kind of divan—are attractively arranged. The disciples, some of whom are very tired, give thanks and immediately lie down.

GEJ 1.36.11

Only I, the physician, and the woman remain awake. When the disciples are soon fast asleep, the two fall on their knees before Me and thank Me most fervently for the inexpressibly great graces I have shown them and their whole house. At the same time, however, they ask whether I would permit them to join Me and follow Me.

GEJ 1.36.12

But I say to them, ‘This is not necessary for your blessedness. But if you wish to follow Me, it is enough that you follow Me in your hearts! You are to remain here in this land as My witnesses. For in a short time very many doubters will arise and come to you; you are then to give them a good testimony about Me!

GEJ 1.36.13

‘And you, My dear Joram, shall from now on be a perfect physician. Whoever you lay your hands on in My name shall immediately grow better, however sick they may be. At the same time, however, you must enter into a perfect and indissoluble marriage with one another, for as things stand, your living together would be a cause of offense to the blind, who look only at what is outward and have no notion of what is within.

GEJ 1.36.14

‘You, Joram, need no longer fear Irhael, for she is now perfectly well in body and soul. And you, Irhael, have in Joram a husband from the heavens and shall be completely happy with him, for he is not a spirit from the earth, but a spirit from above!’

GEJ 1.36.15

The woman says, ‘Oh Jehovah, how good You are! But when would it be Your will for us to be joined publicly before the eyes of the world?’

GEJ 1.36.16

I say, ‘I have already joined you, and this union alone is valid in heaven as on earth. And I tell you: since Adam there has been no more perfect marriage union on this earth than yours now is! For I Myself have blessed your union.

GEJ 1.36.17

‘But tomorrow morning a multitude of priests and other people and citizens of this city will come here. Announce this to them, so that they know you are now fully lawful spouses before God and all the world. But if children are born to you, bring them up in My teaching, and then baptize them in My name as you will tomorrow see many of My disciples baptize, in the manner in which a John baptizes in the Jordan, of whom you will have heard. Thus tomorrow I shall give you, My Joram, the authority thereafter to baptize everyone who will believe in My name.

GEJ 1.36.18

‘But now go to rest. Yet as long as I remain in this house, you are not to touch one another, for the sake of discipline. But during this time do not worry about the table and cellar, for as long as I remain in this house, table and cellar will be supplied from above, as they were today. But tell no one before the time that this is happening in this way, for people would not grasp it. But once I am gone, you may certainly make it known to those of clearer understanding. So go to rest, while I shall now keep watch here alone. For the Lord must neither sleep nor rest; sleep and complete rest would be the death and ruin of all beings! For even if the whole world slept, the Lord would still keep watch and sustain all beings.’

GEJ 1.36.19

At these words the two give thanks and go, each into a different room, to take the rest they needed. But I remain sitting on My chair until morning.
