Chapter 154 of 161

Español Deutsch
GEJ 1.154.1

Everyone now directs their eyes towards the east, where it begins to grow lighter and ever lighter, as at sunrise. Naturally, only for the innermost sight, although through it the fleshly eye is also affected.

GEJ 1.154.2

Finally, after a little while of the east’s growing lighter and lighter, three figures shining far more brightly than the sun appear in the most perfect human form and float down to us through the air; but in the light of these three angels, who because of their light and firmness bear the general name cherubim, the spirit world could scarcely be seen any more. The spirits looked like restless little mists settling around the mountain peaks.

GEJ 1.154.3

When the three cherubim were fully with us, they moderated their light a little, fell on their faces before Me and said: ‘Lord! Who in all the eternally infinite heavens is worthy to behold Your most holy face? To You alone belongs all the glory of eternity and infinity!’

GEJ 1.154.4

But I said to them: ‘Veil yourselves and hasten down to where My twelve messengers are staying in a place! They have fulfilled My will, and that is enough; therefore fetch them and bring them here!’

GEJ 1.154.5

At this moment the three angels veil themselves, depart quickly, and within the short time of a few moments bring the twelve who had been sent out through the air to Me on the mountain peak.

GEJ 1.154.6

But the twelve, except for Judas, were full of joy that they have now been brought to Me from a great distance in such a wondrous way!

GEJ 1.154.7

Only Judas said: ‘My thanks for such a journey for all the future! It has indeed lasted only a few moments, but my fear and the (?) draught of air!’

GEJ 1.154.8

But the angels have let only Judas feel this; the other eleven felt nothing of any of it.

GEJ 1.154.9

This event, however, remained on the people’s lips for a long time afterwards: namely, that the apostles have now been brought through the air to Me on the mountain.

GEJ 1.154.10

But many on the mountain began to fear and said: ‘By heaven, things are really becoming too wondrous here; it can scarcely be endured any longer!’

GEJ 1.154.11

Still others said: ‘Only Jehovah Himself can bring this about!’

GEJ 1.154.12

But the twelve related much of all that they have experienced in the short time.

GEJ 1.154.13

But I commanded the three angels to bring bread and wine in the proper quantity, for the twelve were hungry and thirsty, since for an entire day they have received nothing to eat or drink. And the angels at once did what I have commanded them and brought bread and wine in the proper quantity. Then the twelve took bread and the wine, ate and drank according to their need, and were strengthened.

GEJ 1.154.14

But the five daughters also wished to have a little of such bread and wine to taste and asked Me for it; Kisjonah, however, rebuked the daughters for such craving and said: ‘To crave things is also a sin; therefore self-denial belongs to all things, otherwise no person can attain true virtue.’

GEJ 1.154.15

But I said: ‘Friend, may this sin be forgiven your daughters forever; for such sins are easy to forgive, which in the ground of the ground are no sins. Your daughters are in the ground of the ground truly in earnest hungry and thirsty; there is enough bread and wine for all who are here, and so everyone should also partake according to need once the twelve, who at present are most in need, have strengthened themselves.’

GEJ 1.154.16

Kisjonah and his five daughters were fully satisfied with this; but I then told the twelve apostles to distribute bread and wine immediately, and they did so at once.

GEJ 1.154.17

This time there were in all about eight hundred people on the mountain, which had a very spacious summit, above whose surface only a stone block about five fathoms high projected, though it too was easily climbed from the south side. Everyone ate and drank, was satisfied, and praised and extolled Me for this wondrous refreshment; and from the aforementioned stone block, which he climbed for the purpose, Kisjonah said:

GEJ 1.154.18

‘Hear me, friends and brothers! We know the Scripture from Moses until near our time, and the Books of the Wars of Jehovah, which Moses and many other prophets mention, we have received from Persia and read in translation, since they have been acknowledged as genuine by many sages; but among all the miracles described in them, there is not one that could be compared with what is now happening before our eyes. Such a thing has never been heard of, not only in Israel but in the whole world! Who, then, must He be who performs such deeds, which surely are possible to no one except God?!’
