That creation became divided an unimaginably long time ago is generally known. Less well known are the circumstances surrounding this event, which we call “the Fall,” and what significance it has for us today.
In brief: The female angel named Sadhana did not accept that our heavenly Father described Himself as the primal Source, the primal ground of all being. Despite loving enlightenment, Sadhana continued her rebellion against God, which finally ended with her and her followers — about one third of the inhabitants of heaven — having to leave the heavens because the principle came into effect that unlike repels unlike, while like finds its way to like.
And because heaven is love — the purest love, unimaginably great for us and all-embracing — the separation provided for in the law took place. It was therefore not a punishment from God, but occurred, so to speak, “automatically.” Sadhana, who later called herself “Lucifer” 1) (light-bringer), but whom for simplicity I call “Satan” in this explanation, did not recognize her wrongdoing. She continued fighting and fell and fell and fell … At the end of her Fall the material universe formed, and matter, as every scientist now confirms, is nothing other than energy in its most condensed form. And at the same time the lowest point of creation.
That is the shortest possible summary.
Satan’s problem was and is that every living being, whether in heaven or in hell (by which I mean the lowest subtle point of creation), needs energy, because otherwise it cannot exist. The Source of this infinitely flowing energy is God, who, however, because He is also justice, makes the “amount” of life-sustaining energy dependent on corresponding conduct grounded in His love.
Much love for God (sincere effort is enough for Him) = much energy from His heart; little or no love for God, perhaps even rebellion and active resistance = little or an absolute minimum of energy of love, just enough that the being acting against Him can still exist. But that is no life, as every one of us can imagine — especially not if one once knew something different.

Even as a child I annoyed my parents with the question “Why?” That has not changed to this day. And it is quite interesting how many answers one encounters when one does not stop asking. But one does not ask other people; one always asks “within.”
Most people stop after the first questions — if they ask them at all. One has to search a little and must not give up at once. But the answers are there.
Shall we try?
Satan and his vassals needed and still need (always, even today, which means: even now, at this moment) energy very urgently. Since they do not receive it from God, only one possibility remained: They took and take it from human beings and from souls whom they can still influence on the lowest stages of upward development toward God. That sounds logical, and most people will nod and say, “of course,” and then go back to business as usual, which is entirely in the interest of the opposing side. In doing so they forget — we forget — that they obtain the life-force they so urgently need from you and me and from everyone else who does not yet know his weaknesses and faults, or who knows nothing at all about the fact that through his ignorance, often also through his inattention, he becomes a permanent supplier of energy to the forces of darkness. Or he knows his weaknesses but does not overcome them with Christ’s help because that seems too troublesome. That is the most dangerous variation.
Lucifer/Satan was originally one of the most beautiful and greatest angels, possessing extraordinary power, who did not want to subordinate himself to God; the consequences are known. What is not, or hardly, known — because people imagine him in an “abstract,” unspecified “hell” — is this: He acts upon us without interruption (the extent to which he succeeds depends on us); he lives in our midst and is therefore just as real and just as near to us (again: it depends on us) as our guardian angels, in whom presumably the great majority of us believe.
Over a period we cannot measure, he built up his realm, invisible to us, located in the lowest astral planes — and nevertheless right in our midst — with an unimaginably large number of fellow combatants who were and are faithfully devoted to him and whom he endowed with great powers. Or who have to obey him or are dependent upon him because they have not yet “worked their way out” of his influence; for this is what our incarnations are for. And all of this right among human beings, not, as he spread as a lie, far away in some kind of hell somewhere.
The subtlety with which he proceeded can scarcely, or cannot, be described and could not be seen through by the great majority of people. Protection was offered only by a sincere effort to put into practice in daily life the commandment of love Jesus of Nazareth brought us. But even then he repeatedly succeeded — because none of us is without faults — in intervening in our lives more or less intensely and usually without our noticing it.
What benefited, and still benefits, him, besides people’s lack of enlightenment, was the way he designed his offers:
He made and makes use of the “secret” wishes and ideas of the human being, which that person often does not know himself or would deny if someone drew his attention to them. Because such aspects lie dormant in all people and, if they do know them, are not regarded by them as “dangerous” — which in their initial stage they are not — they (we!) very often accept his offers. We expect relief or pleasure or entertainment or something else from them, in which, quite rightly, we see nothing “bad.” Especially since we have no idea that entirely different, namely negative, forces may stand behind them.
But this is precisely where the cunning lies: to entice the “victim” — and in such cases all of us have often already become victims without suspecting it — and, through the first small steps, seduce that person into taking the next, larger steps.
This was only one of many examples, a small one. Perhaps one person or another is already beginning to see more clearly …
One need only — very, very cautiously and under Christ’s protection! — put oneself purely in thought into Satan’s position and consider what one would do in his place. Then one often discovers very quickly what it is really about and what actually happened. I tried it with His help.
I, and surely many others with me, would first try to conceal my existence from human beings. Completely eliminating belief in me would certainly not succeed with many. But I would try to draw a picture of myself that had nothing to do with reality, with my intentions, or with the way I act into human life. I would frighten them so that merely hearing my name might cause one person or another (or many, even tens of thousands …) to prefer not to concern themselves more closely with me and my methods at all. And that is exactly what I did.
Already in the early centuries of newly emerging Christianity I succeeded in smuggling my fellow combatants into the ranks of those who, with the help of worldly powers (emperors and kings), were able to place themselves at the head of the “Christian” movement. There, and through them, false ideas about me became common knowledge; and whoever opposed them was taught otherwise by persecution, torture, and fire. Unfortunately, that no longer works today, so I had to take other paths — paths of uncertainty and false information.
And so I succeeded in making it impossible to abolish the devil, but the views about him were and are so misleading that they do not harm me; on the contrary, they helped me continue expanding my power. A brilliant move (I praise myself for it!), even though in retrospect it ultimately did not have the success I wanted. That Jesus was to blame for that.
This is Satan’s trap that I built, and it worked until 2,000 years ago. In this way I was able to bind countless souls to myself and likewise induce countless human beings to conduct themselves in such a way that after what you call death their souls had to enter my realm, because they lacked the development and strength to ascend into higher worlds.
The path back to my adversary God leads through 7 spiritual stages. From about stage 3–4 onward I lose my influence, so I have to do everything possible to act on earth. If I do not succeed there, later, when human souls “ascend” after death, I no longer have any possibility of influencing and seducing them.
The false knowledge about me and about what happens to human beings when they close their earthly eyes helped me greatly in this. If they knew …!
If they knew that as souls they continue living in exactly the surroundings corresponding to their inner state at death, when leaving the earth! Put simply: The ignorant go to the ignorant, the evil to the evil, those of little faith to those of little faith. Unfortunately the same applies to those striving upward, to those sincerely making an effort, to those who carry longing for the light in their hearts. Unfortunately! But I could and can do nothing about this principle.
My plan did not look too bad. I was on the road to success, and in this way I was able to bind countless souls and human beings to myself. My sphere of influence became greater and greater. I almost won. But then this Jesus came and ruined all my intentions. With a heavy heart I had to recognize that now I can no longer win. Therefore I set myself another goal: If I cannot be the victor, then I will destroy everything.
That is how I would act if I carried a correspondingly evil potential within me. Does anyone seriously believe that Satan’s intelligence is not immeasurably greater than mine? And not only greater than mine, but greater than that of all human beings and souls? None of us would have any chance if we did not stand under the protection of our brother Jesus Christ. And under a protection we often receive “undeservedly,” because there is also divine mercy, which works outside the law of sowing and reaping.
Satan’s method and that of his followers was extremely successful for many tens of thousands of years and much longer, because he succeeded in inducing more and more people to conduct themselves in ways that did not correspond to love, so that after death they could not ascend into higher spheres either. Wars, famines, and much, much more instigated by him also contributed to creating fears, which in turn prevented further development.
Then Jesus brought, besides the teaching of love, an additional energy for everyone, the so-called Redeemer or Christ spark, which since then we all carry near our hearts. Satan’s plan no longer worked, and with this his power was broken — fundamentally and in principle, which does not mean he no longer has influence over those who still do not move toward higher planes of light. Which means: seriously living a life according to the commandments of divine love. Membership in church or other religious communities is not sufficient for inner development.
In the meantime he has changed his strategy: “If I can no longer win, I will destroy everything.”

And now something else that will certainly provoke the strongest objection immediately in one person or another, at least if that person’s faith is firmly grounded in church teachings:
It was never God’s intention to create realms outside heaven, including the earth and the human being. Why should He have done so?
If we now shrug our shoulders and say, “How should we know?”, then we make things too easy for ourselves. If we know about the Fall and acknowledge this event as truth — and therefore also the origin of matter including the human being, as described above — then everything that arose outside the pure heavens is a consequence of Sadhana’s rebellion against our heavenly Father. Then it would also have had to be God’s will that Sadhana and her followers set themselves against divine love …
If we want to remain within logic …!
Is that conceivable? To want something and to permit something are enormously different. Had there been no Fall, everything would still be in the original home, and all of us, as spirit beings, would still be with God; and therefore we would not have had the experiences so important for us that one incarnation, or usually several incarnations, bring with them.
Here again we recognize God’s infinite wisdom: Even from what appears catastrophic and disastrous to us, He always brings forth the best.

In closing: Must we now hang our heads? By no means. But we should be watchful, possibly more watchful than in the past, and perhaps orient ourselves even more strongly toward Jesus Christ (if that should even be possible …☺☺). But it can do no harm to know about the danger, unknown to the great majority of us, that comes from what is usually invisible.
Even more important, however, is to know that we all carry within us a love whose greatness and power none of us has even the faintest idea of. We can come to this love at any time; this is especially important and necessary when we sense that we are being attacked. But even the mightiest one from the realm of evil can accomplish nothing against Christ.
