We want you to be able to read without distraction, while still knowing where each text comes from.
Reading comes first
We treat every source with care and respect. When an original text or a reliable reference edition is available, we identify it with the book. We clearly distinguish between an original text, a modernized version, and a translation.
Clarity about each edition
Each book tells you which version you are reading and, where relevant, where the translation came from. When a difference between editions matters for understanding the text, we explain it briefly and plainly. Technical details that do not help with reading stay in the background.
The source, when you want it
When a source is available to consult, you will find a discreet way to open it from the book or chapter. You can check it when you wish and return to the text without losing your place.
