Once God inflicted on me
pains of the soul
and cast me down from the throne
of my stupidity and ignorance.
Self-forsaken and alone,
I then remained in
the no-man’s-land of the soul,
and no one could help me.
Then I asked God
to make Himself known –
but only as He truly is.
In response to this most sincere
pleading and supplication
He granted me the grace
to encounter Him in His heart.
This was possible only without me.
