True Peace Always Begins Within

Divine Revelation

In these days, the longing and desire for peace are especially strong in the hearts of many people. For they commemorate the birth of their Savior and Redeemer. And therefore I, Jesus Christ—born two thousand years ago in Bethlehem as a child in a manger—have entered your midst and spread out My hands in blessing, in order to place My peace in your hearts and, beyond you, in the hearts of all who are of good will.

In these days before Christmas, people address Me in their prayers and songs as the “Prince of Peace,” and truly: I am the love within the Father, and love and peace are inseparably joined. No human being can feel love in the heart and at the same time be without peace, and no one can radiate true peace who does not strive to live in My Spirit, in the spirit of love.

Many people call Me the Prince of Peace and yet are far from grasping the true meaning of the word “peace”; and therefore I will make My peace and yours the subject of My revelation.

In every heart—and I emphasize: in every heart—the longing for peace is present. For the inner nature of a human being is divine. His true home is heaven, which he left and to which sooner or later he will return. The longing to take the necessary steps to initiate and advance his return to the Father’s house is the driving force that motivates and moves him. I came into the world to satisfy this longing of yours!

Truly, I tell you, even those who deny Me and fight against Me, and who have given themselves over to the forces of darkness by sowing conflict and violence, carry the same longing in their hearts. They simply do not know it yet. I too will reach them when the time has come.

When peace is spoken of, thoughts very often and very quickly turn to the places on earth, to groups and peoples, where peace does not prevail but war does. Because of the prevailing ignorance of the spiritual background, attempts are made—certainly with good will, but without being able to look into the depths because people know no better—to establish peace exclusively in the outer world, to pray it into being and sing it into being. Praiseworthy as this intention is, it nevertheless applies the lever in the wrong place, because the path to peace through outer efforts does not reach its goal unless it is at the same time sustained by the striving for sincere brotherhood, genuine fellowship, and selfless help—qualities that have first been acquired and that determine conduct from within the soul.

True peace must first arise within, by being sought and “practiced.” Only then can it express itself outwardly.

I have often told you that everything that appears outwardly is a manifestation of what is within, and by this I mean inner feelings and thoughts. Without inner feelings and thoughts directed against the commandment of love, nothing negative can appear in human relationships. But as soon as intentions arise in thought that aim to take advantage of your neighbor, deceive him, put pressure on him, or perhaps even force him by violence, there is a danger that they will lead to concrete considerations. It will then not be long before these energies manifest outwardly, first in plans and preparations and finally in carrying them out, in the deed. It can be compared, roughly speaking, to an illness in which the body reveals what lies in the soul as deficiencies and disharmonies.

And so that My words do not remain abstract, as theoretical statements to which some are quick and glad to agree, but instead acquire practical value for you, I address you directly—you, My brother, My sister, you and you—all who hear and read My word.

When enmity is spoken of, some say to themselves: “But I hate no one, I quarrel with no one, I use no violence. No one can accuse me of waging ‘war’ against my neighbor.” Have you considered that one can also wage war in one’s thoughts? If you say, “My thoughts are not dangerous as long as I keep them to myself,” you are mistaken. For one thing, you “poison” yourselves with them; for another, thoughts become words, and words press toward being translated into actions. It is therefore the energies that are decisive, that determine war or peace.

From this point of view, take a look at your thoughts. What are they like when you perceive another person’s behavior and it does not agree with your ideas? Do your thoughts remain neutral, perhaps even loving and forbearing? Or do you judge the other person? Even if only in subtle shades of evaluation, or in a worse case of devaluation? Are not lovelessness, intolerance, insincerity, disregard, rejection, and much more besides the opposite of true inner peace? If you wish to examine yourselves in depth, then go into the subtleties, into the ramifications I have just pointed out to you.

When you look at the world, naturally you encounter much that does not accord with My commandments of love. How quickly you are ready with an assessment of another person and forget that this person—your brother or sister—comes from the same light as you yourselves. And that at present—only at present!—he has lost the connection with his inner light, his inner love. Believe Me, this person too carries within himself the longing for peace and love, even if at the moment he does not feel it and cannot express it outwardly. Perhaps he is unhappy, fearful, helpless, inhibited, constrained, and much more. Do you know what acts upon him, making him restless or giving the appearance that he is without peace?

My brothers and sisters, the point is not to close your eyes to what is negative in the world and to the injustices that occur. In that way you would very quickly fall into the traps of the forces of darkness, which know very well how to disguise their intentions and portray black as white and evil as good. But you must, as I once told you, learn to see—and nevertheless love!

People who strive to follow Me will again and again try to understand their neighbor in his depths. And they will not hastily make an assessment or pass judgment on him. People who have stepped into My footprints will do the same as I did: They will go after every sheep—every one of their brothers and sisters—that is in need; they will help where they can; they will act in awareness of My word: It is not the healthy who need the physician, but the sick.

That would be a contribution to peace that begins within: by setting your positive qualities against everything you encounter, while at the same time examining why the same negative thoughts keep arising within you about this or that person or in this or that situation. If necessary, because something serious is involved, ask Me to help you look into your soul so that you may find the cause. Often, however, it is enough simply to be watchful and immediately come to Me and say: “Lord, I have just fallen back into an old fault. You know I do not want this. Please help me.”

This is the path of those who follow Me and who in this way begin to create peace within themselves, a peace that has its effect in their families, at their workplaces, and in the communities in which they live; they begin to radiate invisibly. No one who takes Me and the path he walks with Me seriously can avoid this inner examination and the inner work connected with it.

Now one or another of you might say: “Lord, but this does not create peace in the world.” I tell you: “Take care of what is yours, change what you can change, and let heaven do the rest!”

Whoever turns My words over in the heart might do the following during these days before Christmas: He could take a small inventory of his inner life and consider where he could long ago have spoken a word of reconciliation but has postponed it until now. If you go into the subtleties and draw up such a list of names, I tell you in advance: “For many, this list will not be short.” But in this way you have a chance to create within yourselves the peace you desire for yourselves and for the world, and to make a new beginning, so that then—as I have repeatedly told you—you may again be up to date and, as far as possible, remain up to date.

I am the One who helps you with your inner housecleaning. I, the Prince of Peace, whose deepest desire is that My brothers and sisters not only hear My word but put it into practice, so that they themselves become peace and love. And I tell you something else that is worth thinking about:

A person who walks the path with Me in sincere endeavor can have no enemies. There may be people who see an enemy in him or regard themselves as his enemy; but whether you regard someone as your enemy is up to you! If you meet him with love, with the understanding that is called for, with the necessary tolerance, or perhaps even with brotherly forbearance, he can behave however he wishes: You will no longer see your enemy in him, because peace has entered your heart.

I, the Prince of Peace, gather all who are of good will. I take them beneath the mantle of My peace, which is at the same time the mantle of love, and which gives protection to all who carry within themselves the longing for peace of their own, peace within. Peace!

Amen.

Divine Revelation

My beloved, I brought you My love, and My love remains with you. For nothing can exist without it.

You sang, “Christ, the Savior is here.” Oh yes, I am here. I have always been here, and I will always be here. And with longing I await all those who recognize Me as the Savior, as the guide, as the Comforter, the physician and healer in the innermost part of their hearts—where I have dwelt from the beginning and will dwell for all eternity.

I spoke to you of the peace that each of you is called to seek and create within. Before you undertake efforts to change things around you, in all the other places where quarrels, conflicts, and war prevail: Create peace within yourselves! Forgive and ask forgiveness, and refrain from judging your brothers and sisters.

Then My love will flood through you and fill you in such a way that you begin to shine, not only for your own path but also on the paths of your brothers and sisters. You will partake of a power that nothing and no one can resist.

So be blessed once more, and know yourselves sheltered in the peace that I have placed deep within your open hearts and that accompanies you into the time ahead—you, My children, My brothers and sisters who live in space and time, and no less you, My children of the soul.

Remain in My peace, remember Me, and know well: I am the deepest essence in everything that is. I, the Eternal One, your Creator and Father, who in Christ is also your Brother.

Amen.
