“Your will be done”

“Your will be done”
These three words shake me to my core.
For they mean giving one’s life
completely into God’s hand,
and accepting everything that happens
as given by Him.
The mind, when for once it is honest,
is not capable of this.
Only in complete surrender
to divine love
do these words become true and alive.
And quietly I begin to sense the sweetness and joy
in surrender to the divine will –
to sense that in these three words lies hidden the eternal summit
of the spiritual act of union of the two hearts
of Creator and creature,
of Father and child,
of divine Lover
and divine Beloved.
