The earthly eye

The earthly eye
cannot behold God.
I see God with the heart.
There He beholds Himself with me
and through me.
There He has given Himself to me
and in this surrender
has become my possession.
This is how He wills it.
This is His greatest bliss.
And this is the little mystery
of God’s love,
reserved for those souls
that allow themselves
to be completely transformed
in and into God’s heart.
