My Child, Love. Nothing More Is Required

Meeting of July 10, 2010, in Würzburg

Our meeting on July 10, 2010, had a somewhat different character, because we had a visit from dear friends who have lived in Sri Lanka for eleven years: Lina and Ritchie Daniel. Both can already—hopefully for many years to come—look back on eventful lives. They took this year’s visit to Germany as an opportunity to present on various occasions the book Lina wrote under the title “Everyday Stories from Sri Lanka.”

Thus they were also our guests, and in a manner “typical of Lina,” lively and committed, we learned what life is like in an entirely different cultural setting. We listened in amazement to the history and coexistence of people of different religions and—because of the caste system—different social positions, but also to the many possibilities of living well together, learning from one another, and helping one another.

It quickly became clear to us that only goodwill and sincere effort, joined with a healthy portion of joy and the necessary trust, are required to fulfill Jesus’ law of love. Theories, theologies, and religious studies can be dispensed with completely, because what matters is to see with the heart and to help one’s neighbor with hands that follow the heart.

In a brief address to those present at the end of our gathering, the Lord took up this aspect.

Divine Revelation

My beloved brothers and sisters, you have spent an afternoon together of a very different kind. In doing so, you have come to know the practice of My teaching from another perspective.

This practice was and is the core of what I brought to human beings. This was My task as Jesus of Nazareth. I taught and lived nothing other than bringing “love in action” into the world. And into the world means: into your life, into your surroundings, into your families, your neighborhood, your workplaces.

To do this requires no membership in a religious community, no observance of rites and cultivation of traditions that arose and were invented only after Me. People who have recognized the importance and correctness of My teaching and live it recognize one another. They recognize one another by their speech, by the way they treat one another, and they know whom they have before them when they look into one another’s eyes.

This teaching, which requires nothing other than sincere effort founded on love, can be practiced by e v e r y human being everywhere in the world. If this were not so, it would not correspond to My justice. But justice, embedded in My infinite love, must apply equally to all creatures. Everyone must be able to fulfill what the commandment of love says. And that is what everyone can do according to his possibilities: strive to express love in inner feelings, thoughts, words, and deeds.

This requires inner willingness and an open heart. Nothing more is required, because then I can take over direct guidance and further development. Whoever proclaims or prescribes anything beyond this as necessary for salvation does not teach what I taught.

The opposing forces recognized the simplicity of My teaching. They could not undo the fact that it had come into the world; but they could erect many obstacles, issue many prohibitions and regulations, and place much that distracts at the center, so that outward things finally became more important than the effort to do what is right. And they put their plan into practice.

In this way many communities arose that moved more or less far away from the core of what came into the world through Me.

But precisely in this time I radiate My power, My enlightening light, and My healing into the world, and I radiate with greater strength into the hearts of those who love Me. I knock, and in many places the door is opened to Me, even in places and countries where you would not expect it.

Thus more and more people recognize Me within themselves; and they understand that it is solely a matter of fulfilling the commandment to love God and neighbor, and that everything else is accessory and can be dispensed with.

Even if your world is in turmoil, a spiritual awakening has nevertheless been set in motion. Truly, I tell you, infinitely many spirit beings have left the heavens, and likewise countless souls from their realms have gone into matter in order, in this phase of the struggle darkness is waging against light, to stand on the side of light.

I am the One who leads the great host of My messengers of light, and more and more join their ranks and do very practically what lies in the depth of their soul and what they feel in their heart: wherever they have been placed, through their lives they proclaim My love.

I bless you and the many who are present in spirit, and all those who have set out with their yes to Me and will yet set out. With this blessing strength upon strength flows to you all, making you strong in the place where you have been placed—wherever this is or will be, even in distant countries and other cultures, even within and outside the different religions. For I am everywhere, everywhere I knock at hearts, and everywhere the door is opened to Me.

Be certain that through My blessing I strengthen every one of your efforts, and know that—whatever may happen—you are never alone. Amen.

A short excerpt from “Everyday Stories from Sri Lanka” follows, making something clear: namely that the way with God and to God is by no means marked by grimness and strained effort—more correctly, must not be marked by them—and that it should be walked in the midst of everyday life—more correctly, must be walked there—because everything else is of no use. “Feet on the earth, head in heaven,” as someone once aptly put it.

This is also how the prayer is to be understood which Lina writes arose within her “in the 1960s” during a car ride. She spontaneously stopped by the roadside, found a pencil in the car—and, lacking writing paper, wrote the words on a cement sack lying in the back of the car.

Father, I Love Life!

I love life as it shows itself in the family

and in the relationship between husband and wife.

I love the young, hopeful life of children,

still full of promise, full of daring and questions.

I love the life of young people,

in whom momentum,

strength, and enthusiasm can be felt most clearly.

I love life

as it shows itself in the relationships of friends with one another,

and I give thanks for the ability and the opportunities

to meet other people.

I love life

as it shows itself at a dance,

in cheerful company, in singing and playing.

I love life in the city

and rejoice in the busy streets

where life flows, drives, hurries, races, and strolls.

I love the life that speaks from art.

I love technology and enjoy

the relief it gives us.

I love music that enfolds and enchants me,

that expresses what cannot be said in words.

I love life in nature,

in the smallest flower and in the great forest,

on the mountains and by the sea,

in flocks of migratory birds and in the wild storm.

I love life, however it shows itself!

It seems to me like a tapestry.

All creatures of the past millennia have woven upon it.

All who come after us may also weave upon it.

And now, in this moment

in which past and future meet,

which we call the present,

we are called to weave upon the tapestry of life,

all of us who live now.

May the pattern we weave,

if not great and important,

at least be beautiful and good.

Amen
