The shortest path into heaven

Provenance: Samuel Surazal
Books: Drinking from His Eyes

The shortest path into heaven
leads through hell,
when you awaken
amid all your deadly desires.
Yet when at last
your hell is transformed into light
you recognize
that it is in truth
the most merciful space
in God’s creation.
