On Freedom and Strengthening the Powers of the Soul

Divine Revelation

My beloved sons and daughters, I call you this because you are and remain My children, but beyond being children you have recognized yourselves as radiant and powerful sons and daughters of My love. And I can speak differently to My sons and daughters. I can reach them still more deeply in their understanding; I can give them forms of help they can comprehend and put into practice in their daily lives. And so today I want to speak with you about freedom.

I have given freedom to all My creatures, and to a degree that you—who are still bound to time and space, and also many of you who have already passed through the veil into the beyond—are unable to grasp. I desire that each one grow into this freedom, for freedom means, among other things: having become free of attachments, free of constricting ideas, free of one’s own pressing desires, and free of your human willing.

I desire that My sons and daughters increasingly take possession of their spiritual inheritance. This means working with the powers I placed within them so that they become the lighthouses radiating light that they once freely chose to be. It is surely the desire of every son and every daughter to be free. Naturally the opposing side wants to prevent this, and it tries by every means to bind you and make you dependent. For bondage and dependence, restriction and rigidity are the opposite of freedom.

But I call you into freedom!

It is not always easy for you to recognize where and in what way you have allowed yourselves to be bound. Yet truly, I tell you: everything that is human-made tries to bind people to itself. This includes the most varied groups and communities of a religious kind; it includes churches, sects, ideologies, and the countless pseudo-spiritual communities that prescribe to their members what they are to do, refrain from doing, and believe. To achieve this, they have created many means, some of them in written form. People believe that if they follow these things they live in a certain security because someone is there to point out the direction for them.

But I tell you: it is deceptive security. True security, My son, My daughter, you find only in Me, and I do not restrict you. I do not frighten you, and I do not bind you. What I desire and offer you is a connection, an intimate togetherness between Me, who am the Source of all life, and you, who are forever breathed into and sustained by Me.

I have spoken to My children at all times. Much of this has been written down and now serves My own as an apparently unalterable guideline; and precisely there lay and still lies the problem: people adhere literally to the words and no longer grasp their meaning, and as a rule neither can nor want to understand—and therefore do not allow the corresponding realization—that everything is evolution, and that I, because I am not a God who merely repeats Himself, lead My own deeper and deeper into My truths and wisdom, so that there is continual further instruction, indeed there must be.

Everyone who receives and writes down My word has an individual consciousness, and through him I can say and have written down only what corresponds to the consciousness of the one through whom I communicate. This explains why there are so many revelations of differing quality. And for this I want to give you an image:

A father has ten children between the ages of five and twenty. He calls them together and tells them a story, asking them to retell it. How many versions do you think there will be? What will the youngest child’s rendering contain compared with that of the oldest? Each will pass on the father’s words in his own way. But if all love the father, and all strive to the best of their ability to tell the story from their understanding, then in every case it contains the truth, and yet all the accounts differ from one another.

And here lies the great danger for the one who does not act on his own responsibility: becoming bound to a spoken or written word, clinging to this bond, and remaining and growing rigid within the limits of that bond. Such conduct does not correspond to the freedom inherent in My creatures. Therefore I tell you: never bind yourselves to groups and communities, to words, to books, to people. If it is important for you, regard everything as guidance; but as soon as you bind yourselves to anyone or anything, you can no longer find and grasp the full truth. Seek Me within yourselves, and if your effort comes from an honest heart, I give you a Father’s promise: You will find Me!

And when you have found Me, I will kindle longing within your hearts so that you find your way nearer and nearer to Me; so that I can draw you magnetically through the infinite love that I am within you.

I give you another image: imagine a beautiful avenue. This avenue is the way to Me, and at the end of this way I wait for you, and with Me your freedom. The way is called “surrender,” and surrender means that little by little you let go of your own willing and desiring—and do so freely—and exchange them for what I give you in return. With every letting go, with every release from attachments and dependencies of any kind, you advance one or more steps along the avenue. Your view broadens; beauties open before you that you did not perceive before, and you feel ever more clearly the strong magnetism proceeding from Me and drawing you ever nearer to Me.

When you finally reach the end of this avenue, I stand there with arms outstretched, and all My love flows through you and enfolds you; and everything that was, everything of human faults and weaknesses that clung to you, is gone, freely exchanged by you for what I gave you in return: freedom, love, perfection, and the radiant greatness of a son, a daughter of My heart.

This way, My beloved, sooner or later each one of you will walk. Why do you want to wait any longer? There is no reason to hesitate. The way to My Father’s heart is called surrender, and surrender is the highest form of love; it unfolds within you the freedom still slumbering there.

I bless you, My sons and daughters, and draw you magnetically to My heart if you allow it. Amen.

Divine Revelation

I am the fisher of human beings from the heavens! Until the end of all days I cast out My nets for all those who allow themselves to be touched by Me, the almighty power of love, and drawn from the foaming waves of this world to the saving shore, into My arms.

Take hold of the net in My hands, O you beloved in human and soul garments, for it is My desire and will that you suffer no harm from the roaring and raging of the unbridled forces of destruction, neither in your soul nor in your body. It is My will that each one of My children understand and recognize who it truly is, what the origin and goal of its often arduous journey through times and spaces are, and that I am within it, nearer than arms and legs, nearer than breath and heartbeat. For I am your life, I am all in all—and outside Me there is nothing!

When My child has recognized Me, eternal love, within itself, affirms this love, and strives to align its life with it, then its consciousness unfolds and divine life-force can flow in and become effective more and more. It supports the child’s striving toward spiritualization and helps it rid itself of all burdensome qualities and attachments and let them go, so that they do not hinder it on its way toward the light into the kingdom of heaven or even deny it all spiritual development.

When you then mature in My Spirit step by step, My child, when your inner being has gained powers of heaven and the radiance of your soul becomes ever more powerful in the light of divine love and truth, then you too have become a fisher of human beings, and I, your heavenly Father, call you My beloved son and My beloved daughter. You did not reject My desire and My request that you set out and follow Me.

Oh see, so many of you descended as My messengers of light into the shadow realm of matter in order to cast the nets with Me by being a true brother and a true sister to your neighbor and passing on what I place abundantly into your heart and hands. The more you are ready to give from your inner and outer treasury, the more you will receive from the fullness of the eternal, inexhaustible Source.

Truly, I tell you, there is no more joyful experience for your soul, no greater bliss, than to give yourselves in true service of love to your brothers and sisters, indeed to all living things. All true growth and maturing means serving in and out of love; and such serving in turn means ceaselessly continuing to mature. Toward what are you to mature? Toward Me, the Godhead!

Many of My children, imprisoned in dull ignorance, cling to the idea that in what they suppose to be their one and only earthly life they need only accept Me by name and believe in Me. Thus they eke out their inactive existence with lifeless faith and cold hearts among the mass of like-minded people in their rigid, emptied faith communities; and yet after the death of their body they expect to pass directly through heaven’s door into My arms. But I, your Lord and God, tell you: this is a tremendous error! For know this: whoever neither names nor knows My name, yet conscientiously and faithfully follows the quiet inner voice of love and compassion and is a quiet, selfless, merciful benefactor among his fellow human beings, will after passing through the veil awaken in the light of the other world and be nearer to Me than all those whose pious lips ceaselessly and loudly praise and profess Me—while their heart is empty and far from Me, their longing greedily craves everything human, and their hands move passionately for their own welfare and benefit alone. Failing to perform charitable works of love even though My child could do so and knows it is truly a heavier burden for its soul than living and acting in indifferent lovelessness unconsciously because of a lack of knowledge and possibilities.

Whoever has ears, let him hear the serious words of your heavenly Father, which nevertheless spring solely from love for each one of you. Awaken from the sleep of this world that writhes in its death struggle, so that it does not drag you down into the depths with it.

You are right when you recognize that the way to the heart of God is a narrow path, connected with decisions, self-overcoming and discipline, with courage and steadfastness, fidelity and perseverance, and also with some renunciation. But no less is it connected with the experience of deep joy and bliss, with the quiet rejoicing and intimate gratitude of the one who learns to gain mastery over himself, to entrust himself to My guidance, and to surrender to My will.

Was it ever possible to reach a truly high goal without one’s own effort? I am the Highest; I am the goal of all goals, and I am destined—without exception—for every one of you. How long My child still wishes and must travel toward this goal is placed in its decision.

Oh, if your eyes were not still held shut and you could already perceive and behold it now in its glory—truly, you would let go of and give up everything for it, and no effort to reach it would be too much for you. But first, according to My all-wise law, each one of you must by free will and personal effort build up, unfold, and bring to radiance the powers of your soul, and thus allow heaven to arise within yourselves. Yet, as you know, I ask of you only your sincere effort, while in return you receive from Me all heavenly assistance.

So set out, My beloved, set out! I, your divine Father, await you. Amen.

In a discussion following the revelations, the question was asked how best to put into practice what the Lord had said toward the end: “But first, according to My all-wise law, each one of you must by free will and personal effort build up, unfold, and bring to radiance the powers of your soul.”

The conclusion, perhaps somewhat sobering for one person or another: strengthening the powers of the soul is not possible without simultaneously giving up human ideas, without changing one’s character toward what is better, which must finally express itself in one’s dealings with one’s neighbor—and with oneself. The assumption that one can remain the “same old person” and at the same time hope that God can be moved by requests, prayers, meditations, or even spiritual techniques alone to strengthen a person’s powers of the soul without that person himself contributing, through sincere effort, to reducing his recognized faults and weaknesses, is a mistaken conclusion that—if it remains uncorrected for a longer period—can finally end in frustration, helplessness, and resignation.

The fitting image of a scale with its two pans was drawn: for something to be added on one side as strengthening, there must be a counterpole on the other side that gives something up or lets something go. This follows from the free will we possess and that we must first “bring into play.” In this way we set the balancing process in motion, and with the working on and transformation of everything that does not yet correspond to a son and daughter of God, the inflow of helpful divine energy of love necessarily increases, which is equivalent to strengthening the powers of our soul. It is like an automatic process: I give—and then I receive. Yet we must not forget that we have already received infinitely much from God’s love and mercy and will continue to receive it in the future—including the strength for realization and change when we ask for it—without having had to do anything in return. If it were otherwise, we would not exist.

The revealed word of the Lord proves true:
