What God accomplished as a human being,

What God accomplished as a human being,
you begin to sense in life’s struggle
with all your earthly drives
and your godless desire.
In this humiliation you become aware
that He always goes with you
into the mire of your errors
and your self-deception,
to love you even there
unconditionally.
This was made possible
by the crucifixion.
Through it,
God’s inviolable holiness submitted
forever and ever
to divine mercy.
