Dear brothers and sisters,
attached as a PDF is a text that I will publish tomorrow on our website
www.aus-liebe-zu-Gott.de under “Worth Reading.”
I hope you enjoy reading it, and even more that putting it into practice succeeds.
You know: Our sincere effort is enough for Him. He does the rest.
With love,
Hans
Dear fellow companions,
we all know, and I am telling you nothing new, that at present we are on earth in order to develop. Which means: to learn something, to work at something we do not yet master, and, if possible, to live with it and by it afterward.
And why? Because every human being — more precisely, the soul living within that person — has the goal of returning to the place from which it once set out as a spiritual being, the place it usually left a long time ago. For whatever reasons. Even if soul and human being do not know this or perhaps even reject it.
One thing is certain, even if one person or another does not like to hear it: We are not here in order to have a good time, but — I repeat myself because it is so important to grasp this in its depth and full meaning — in order to learn.
Between heaven and earth lie countless spiritual worlds through which all of us passed before finally “landing” here. Naturally the question may arise: “Why do we have to incarnate in order to learn something? Can we not do that over there?” The question is justified, for in principle one can indeed do it over there as well. But — and now comes the great but:
In the beyond we are among our own kind, because one of the spiritual laws says: “Like is drawn to like, and unlike repels unlike.”
Just imagine that all the people around you, those with whom you are confronted every day, had the same character, the same conduct, and the same qualities as you, with all their good and less good sides. That does not actually sound bad, does it? But in the long run it would be rather unexciting and, above all, not very instructive. Yet we are supposed/want/have to learn, even though the How?, Where?, and When? are subject to our free decision.
Because the soul wants to progress, it decides in favor of an incarnation. And because through its fellow human beings tasks are then placed before it — among them the “famous” law of correspondence — tasks that need to be solved, even though in this phase the human being in the great majority of cases does not (yet) recognize this.
(For those who do not yet know the law of correspondence: It says that whatever bothers, annoys, upsets me, and so on in another person is also within me.)
In the negative case, a soul incarnates because it wants to live out wishes that are contrary to the law of selfless love, something that is not possible for it in the beyond, or not always possible; though this can be only one of many reasons. It makes no difference when it makes this decision, perhaps only after tens of thousands of “years” or even longer (the quotation marks around “years” are meant to indicate that time does not exist in the beyond).
If, however, it is open and listens to the recommendations of its spiritual advisers, then a time, external circumstances, and a pair of parents are chosen that all promise the greatest possible “success” for the coming incarnation — insofar as this is possible at all in planning from the beyond. For many factors enter into becoming human over which neither the soul nor its spiritual companions have any influence.
Finally, through the physical union of man and woman the foundation is laid for the incarnation of the soul, which does not immediately enter its still tiny body, but during pregnancy in many cases is already involved in preparations for its birth and also in shaping its future earthly life. Then the time comes, and the adventure of the soul’s next step in a material body can begin — a soul that carries within itself good and also not-so-good qualities from earlier incarnations.
So no “brand-new” soul comes into the world, supposedly newly created by God at every birth for a single life, as false church teaching says. People have given practically no thought to the many questions and the apparent injustice of God that arise from such a false teaching. Here the opposing side has, in the truest sense of the expression, nailed “a board” in front of people’s heads, so that without thinking for themselves they blindly believe what is offered from the Christian-church side as something to believe, or prescribed dogmatically as something that must be believed.
On this point the devil and his followers did “good work,” imposing upon believers a false, illogical teaching that was prepared step by step over many centuries and finally became part of the “deposit of faith” about which people no longer think.

So far I have written nothing new for the great majority. But it was meant to serve as the foundation for what comes now. For now we get down to the heart of the matter, because we leave theory and look at ourselves.
The magic word on the inner path is self-knowledge. Why is that? We have all read a great deal (too much? 🙂). Most of us have plenty of knowledge, but knowledge — unfortunately — does not move us forward; otherwise many of us would have reached the goal long ago. Knowledge is nevertheless important for most people, especially when and because it serves — or should serve — as the basis for beginning inner work on oneself.
How does the saying go?
The intellect fulfills its task best as the right hand of the heart.
There is a difficulty with insight into oneself. Many are firmly convinced that for a long time they have been working inwardly with self-knowledge — and together with the Lord! — and nevertheless a problem, or the problems one would so gladly like to be rid of, keep appearing again and again. Possibly for many years already. One practically “beats down the Lord’s door” — and nothing happens …
How can that be? I do not believe that He fails to hear me when I come to Him with what occupies me. After all, He lives within me and loves me. That He has other things to do is no explanation either. That He does not want to help me? Impossible! So what remains?
Then “by chance” a text fell into my hands in which the Lord Himself addresses such a dilemma. I reproduce a short excerpt here:
… well, you have now made a confession. Are you expecting absolution from Me? Or what am I supposed to tell you? Again and again there have been pointers, possibilities for how you can deal with it. But only you can take the steps. I cannot walk them for you. And you have noticed, or are noticing, various effects showing that much is not working.
So it certainly makes sense to look at what you could do so that things might go better. I cannot impose this on you or pull you out of everything that is. It is simply as you perceive it. And then the question is: Can you do something about it? Do you want to do something about it, or do you simply leave things as they are? That too is a possibility — simply to live your life as you are living it now.
But as I see, you are not particularly satisfied with that either. Yet who is supposed to change it except you yourself, by making a decision or several decisions, or looking closely: What could do you good, what could help you, what could brighten your mood, who or what?
Perhaps you also imagine that I snap My fingers and suddenly the tiredness is gone. Joy in life is there — wonderful — but it simply does not work that way. Therefore it is a matter of thinking about what might help you …
I can only say that I am with you, and if you do not feel Me, the reason does not lie with Me.
But one always has to do something, even when one notices that something is sticking somewhere, something is snagging, something is not developing as you would like. But merely noticing it and waiting for a miracle does not work. Therefore I have no advice for you except this: Look closely and consider: What would you recommend to someone like yourself, with all these symptoms?
Amen.
If, exceptionally, I may put it a little casually:
I imagine a situation in which I run all too easily and quickly to the Father or to Jesus asking for a solution, and He then says to me with a smile: “I already know how to do this; you still have to learn it.” 🙂
For me there is a difference between asking for the solution and asking Him to help me recognize what I have to learn from it, and then also making the effort to put what I have recognized into practice. The latter is undoubtedly the more difficult path, but in the long run surely the better one. In the work that then lies before me, I am not alone. He is simply waiting to help me with it.
That, however, presupposes our willingness to accept His help, even when at that point we do not yet know what this help will look like. And here, in my view, lies a problem — the problem. It can be explained by a small example, and one can also recognize oneself rather well in it: the word believe, or faith.
Many people say, “I believe in God.” Wonderful, but what does that mean? That I believe God exists? Or that I believe I am back on the path to Him and therefore still have quite a few things to change within myself?
If we apply this example to a situation in which we ask for help, we must recognize that His help — as a rule and over the long term — is given to us in the measure or extent to which we surrender ourselves to Him. With our whole heart, or, as in the example of faith, only in words?
Surrender, then, is the magic word. It has nothing to do with the intensity with which, often for days, weeks, or even months, we merely ask and — forgive the expression — sometimes also beg …
Surrender! Lack of surrender, and here I speak from my own experience and from many conversations, cannot be replaced by praying and asking. What is often so difficult about surrendering oneself to eternal, all-forgiving love? The answer is easy and quickly found:
We do not know what will then happen to us, what will then come toward us! We are afraid that the Lord will take something from us or do something with us or allow something to come upon us that we do not want, because we are still cultivating our own ideas, even if only in a few respects.
And so our surrender often remains fragmentary, indeed spoken with the mouth, but not wanted with our whole heart and out of love for Him. Is it any wonder that some of our requests and wishes do not even reach His heart, although He hears our words?
If we calmly think this through, we must recognize how absurd it is: We are afraid to surrender ourselves completely to the mightiest and most beautiful power in the universe! This power is not only incomparably great; it also carries within itself — and this is our good fortune — infinite patience. “Thank God” in the truest sense of the expression.
Naturally the adversary — yours and mine and the adversary of us all — also knows about these things and connections. Beyond that, he knows how to make use of our weaknesses, which are largely unknown to us. As human beings we have nothing to set against the subtlety with which he proceeds; Jesus Christ does, however, whose power lives in everyone. But that is not the subject here and now. Besides, it has often been dealt with already and can be found in detail in the revelations on the pages of www.aus-liebe-zu-gott.de.
Whenever we wish, or whenever it comes to mind, let us remember what has been written here and try in the future to pay ever better and more frequent attention within ourselves to the beginnings of a satanic temptation. Admittedly, that is a little work. But we do not have to do it alone. He helps us. Yet let us also not forget:
“I already know how to do this; you still have to learn it.” 🙂
