Divine Revelation
My beloved sons and daughters, today I would like to speak to you about consciousness and about how you find your way to a higher consciousness. For the great majority of My children, consciousness is no more than a word; yet in reality it is much, much more. It is something so comprehensive that with your limited human mind you cannot grasp what lies behind it.
I am the highest consciousness in creation!
This sentence reads so simply, and yet you human beings cannot imagine what it means. Nothing equals My greatness, My power and—in the positive sense—My might. And at the same time My nature is love! And this kind of love, like everything concerning Me, is not truly comprehensible to you until you are with Me again.
And even then, no creature will ever be able to recognize and experience Me completely. For I am everything! Everything has come forth from Me, and everything has been sustained by Me from eternity and for all eternity, because the life that makes you My children pours itself without interruption into everything I have once created and will yet create.
That is the visible expression of My love for My creatures: that I give My life-force, which is love, to everyone. This also applies to evil, which in the freedom I gave everyone once turned against Me.
Now one person or another will surely ask why human beings do not have, or no longer have, this higher consciousness that is nevertheless their own? And what must be done to return, through development of soul and spirit, to the level on which you once lived as a spiritual being? And on which you will live again, because I do not allow anything I have once created to be lost or perhaps even condemn it, as false teachings would have you believe.
Because you were falsely instructed and are still confronted with a faith that does not correspond to My truth, so many among you—it is no exaggeration to say: the overwhelming majority of people—are of the view that at every birth I create a “new soul.” In the Middle Ages and the centuries before it, this view could be brought to ignorant people who had little or no possibility of defending themselves against this position prescribed by an alliance of Church and state. 1)
Today you know better, and yet it is difficult for you to make a different way of thinking the foundation of your striving in this earthly life. This is connected, on the one hand, with the fact that this false belief has been “stored” in your souls since incarnation, or that you believe your church authorities without thinking for yourselves; and, on the other hand, with the human weakness—encouraged by the opposing forces—of making a change in thinking and in its implementation in everyday life when an old way of thinking proves false.
Behind this lies an approach prepared over a long time and carefully planned by darkness and its vassals. As it appears, it has been successful. But from the viewpoint of eternity, it is only a brief and small success.
The truth is: You are children of My love who underwent your development in the heavens, who at the end of your development were blessed by Me, who found in the heavens a task corresponding to your spiritual mentality, and whose eternal home is the heavens.
That you are presently living outside the heavens changes nothing about the fact that the earth—and likewise the astral realms surrounding it—is only a temporary place of residence. Your present existence resembles a journey you have undertaken for various reasons. None of you would think of regarding a travel destination, however beautiful, as your home. All the less if you know where your true home is and how beautiful it is.
And it is precisely at this point that the forces against Me and you began their work. With half-truths they portrayed your earthly existence as though its present form were what I had willed for you. And they accepted that many questions would arise from this, knowing full well that the great majority of people would not make the effort to search for satisfactory answers or would shy away from confrontation with their religious community.

The question why human beings do not have, or no longer have, a higher consciousness even though it is present in their deepest interior is easily answered once it is acknowledged that a human being has a soul and that both—human being and soul—are not on this earth for the first time. This explains so much that the church side had to “put a bolt” before it so that under no circumstances could this fact be believed. 2)
But what does “not for the first time” mean? Every spiritual being received absolute freedom from Me. And all of you are spiritual in your primal nature. The law of cause and effect—which came into force through the rebellion against love by Sadhana and her followers—ensures that opposing thought and action ultimately always turns against the one who caused it.
When a soul incarnates, for whatever reason, it enters the sphere ruled by darkness. Whoever wishes to be informed about this on the spiritual planes before incarnation knows it; but that does not at the same time mean that he is now protected. He must be watchful, for the negative forces, like you, also have the freedom to do and leave undone whatever they wish.
They need energy, for from Me they receive only minimal energy that barely suffices to sustain their existence. So they try to obtain additional energy. Where do they get it from? From the human beings whom they can attack and seduce at their weak points. A logical principle.
It is equally logical to guard against this by having the human being strive to live My laws. Then his soul’s vibration is generally so high that the dark forces find it impossible, or difficult, to influence him.
But—I must tell you this too—that is theory. For no human being is able always to protect himself from attacks. Yet whoever turns to Me, whoever strives to live with Me in everyday life, can receive from Me protection into which evil cannot penetrate, or cannot penetrate so often.
None of this is new to many of you. But merely knowing it is not the solution if you wish to complete your incarnation successfully. Successfully in this case means that through your effort to live My law of love you initiate an inner growth that, after the so-called death of the body, brings your soul into bright, subtle realms. These are worlds in the beyond in which the attraction of the earth is no longer effective. Whoever reaches these spheres in his soul-body has freed himself from the necessity of carrying out his further development in matter.
When I say that merely knowing about life after death is not the solution, I mean this: what counts is always only what you have done, what you have put into practice, and never what you know, what has therefore accumulated in your heads. Knowledge can serve to gain insight and make decisions; but if action does not follow, knowledge is useless. It does not bring you one step closer to My heart and does not promote the maturing of your consciousness.
Your consciousness grows with every small and large deed founded on love, with every mastering of the tasks that the day sets before you to solve. It is a continuous process, comparable to the many steps that must be taken if you wish to reach your destination—the summit. Most of the time you do not even notice that, through what you have just done or refrained from doing, you have again advanced a little on your way to Me. And yet everything adds up, and in this way you grow; your consciousness grows. It expands, as you put it.
And that in turn means that you become more sensitive, that you perceive more, thus see and hear more than in the past; that you learn sometimes to remain silent at the “right moments,” but also to give answers that increasingly come from My wisdom. And that love for Me and your neighbor, but also love for yourselves, unfolds step by step.
It is a false assumption if you believe that miracles happen in and with you overnight and that in the morning you awaken as a “new person.” The way to My heart must be walked in tiny steps; and that, My beloved, sometimes means work, but at least an earnest effort of a kind some had not imagined.
What is comforting, what repeatedly gives courage when things seem to be becoming difficult, is the knowledge that with every step you take in My Spirit I am at your side. Always and without exception!

What is decisive—as a kind of basic prerequisite—for whether you take an important step forward in this earthly life is therefore that you first recognize and acknowledge the necessity of change at all.
That sounds good and right, but unfortunately it is not self-evident to the great majority of people. For that is not how they were taught. In their instruction—that is, in yours—the primary concern was and still is to keep commandments and observe prohibitions. A change in the spirit of selfless love …? In order to come inwardly near and nearer to Me, who am love …? And if so: How is that supposed to happen? Who knows the way of self-knowledge, which always stands at the beginning of every change? And who teaches it?
Before you look at the people in your immediate surroundings and recognize My words as correct, however, you should first look at yourselves. Incidentally, this is something that applies everywhere and always!
Is it really clear to you in depth that you are on earth in order to strive for a change in your soul? And possibly at the same time to work off some burdens that accumulated in the past, that is, in earlier lives? And even if you can answer this question with yes, if you therefore know about it: Is this present in your consciousness more or less regularly? Does it therefore determine what you do and refrain from doing?
The earth offers many, indeed almost ideal, possibilities for initiating and promoting development. If a spiritual being decides on an incarnation with the thought and desire to learn in matter, these are good prerequisites for success. But every soul is free to go into matter for other reasons as well—for example, in order to pursue selfish interests.
I never judge motives, and I condemn nothing and no one. And even though My help applies to everyone—I live even within those who fight Me—those who strive to live with Me can benefit far more from My nearness and My assistance than those who face Me skeptically or even reject Me.
Why the earth in particular is an ideal place for the development of the souls of My children is easily explained. And if you think along, as I desire, then you will also apply this question—the question “Why?”—to yourselves and reflect on why you are precisely in the situation in which you presently find yourselves; and why you are together with the people whom you—still—love to a greater or lesser degree.
In the heavens, your eternal home, everything is, as you would put it, “all sunshine.” Whoever lives in the heavens has unfolded within himself not only the other qualities, extending from order to mercy, but love as well. Otherwise he would not be an “inhabitant” of My eternal heavenly creation. For here too, as everywhere, like attracts like.
What the growing ones—for there are growing ones with Me too—still have to learn and develop is taught to them by many helpers and friends in the course of their maturation process. This is a way of learning that cannot be compared with your learning. This path is undertaken full of joy and eagerness. And My blessing, which I give to every growing one who is brought before “My throne” by his heavenly parents, strengthens My child and helps him become an angel of a beauty and splendor unimaginable to you human beings.
When a heavenly being leaves its eternal home, it has its reasons. As already mentioned, I will never interfere, even though I will try—as in the rebellion of Sadhana, who wanted to be like God—to bring My children to insight when selfish thoughts creep in, something that is possible because of freedom even in the heavens; not only theoretically but practically, as the events surrounding the Fall show.
But everyone learned from it, so that something like this will never happen again.

When a heavenly being decides to incarnate, then—if it wishes to know—it knows approximately what the earthly life ahead will bring. The reasons for leaving its heavenly home can differ. Either it allowed itself to be seduced by Sadhana, or it belongs to those who incarnate out of love for their brothers and sisters on earth in order to help them on their “journey home.”
After leaving the heavens, the spiritual being enters realms or worlds that are likewise subtle, but no longer have the high vibration of its former home. The material universe is the lowest point of the Fall, arising because My love permitted it in order to give the fallen beings a basis from which they could work their way upward again. For that this would happen, even if only in the very distant future, was provided for in My will, because I do not lose what My love has once called into life.
As a rule a spiritual being must pass through these realms outside heaven; it must live in them, though not in all of them, before it can be brought into material life through a human mother.
So, in all brevity, another look into your past, meant to help you understand why a soul, or the human being, does not enter life completely fresh. All of you already have quite a bit behind you. This applies to those who incarnated voluntarily just as much as to the fallen. Now the point is to remember and acknowledge that you are children of this world only temporarily and that your true home is with Me.
How? By living the commandment—if necessary, more intensively than before—that I brought to people as Jesus and that in its shortest form reads: “Love—and nothing else.”
I have deliberately repeated what is already familiar to you because it is important and decisive that you also internalize what has been said. Only then will you be able freely and with an open heart to make a decision for Me, and not because it is prescribed that way.

So the point is, My beloved sons and daughters, that the human being recognizes himself as a being who in reality, in his eternal interior, is spiritual in nature, and that he makes the decision to set out on the way home. That, ultimately, is what his incarnation is meant to serve; that is what it is meant to help him accomplish.
The same task therefore lies before every human being; it is simply not equally easy or equally difficult for everyone to master, which is connected with the past of each individual.
The way back can be compared to a journey whose destination is clearly defined. It is: I want to go home. I want once again to immerse myself in love and live in it and with it—the love that is eternally mine.
On your path of development you will relearn all that you “in principle” already carry within you. You simply cannot get to it so easily because, as one might say, it is buried. But every single day your earthly life offers you a wealth of possibilities to come to know yourself, your thinking, and your behavior, if you are ready to do so.
In this, the law of correspondence can be a great help to you. It can be called an important key to self-knowledge. It says that everything that still bothers, annoys, upsets, or unsettles you and triggers negative reactions within you is present within you in the same or a similar way. It must be so, for otherwise you would certainly notice the things that seem unattractive in your eyes but could deal with them calmly. This is especially important when it concerns your fellow human beings and their behavior, which so easily and quickly tempts you to judge them.
Seen in this way, the day really is a good friend. But it will help you only if you do not pass too quickly over what it shows you; and if—after gaining insight—you set about, with My help, gradually practicing a new way of thinking and acting and finally living it consistently.
In this way you walk step by step back along the road you previously traveled—perhaps a very long time ago—when you left the heights in order to explore the depths. It is like a school: no class can be skipped if the work is eventually to be crowned with success.
By mastering each individual level, extending from order to mercy, none of which can be omitted, you come closer to the goal you seek. This also applies if you do not know in detail the things I am explaining here. If your motivation is to want to change toward what is good because you believe Me and My word, which I gave as Jesus 2,000 years ago, and because longing has awakened within you, I am the One who takes you by the hand and walks with you.
Change, then, is what is called for. And that is something different from keeping the rules and regulations of a religious community. It is love lived out in everyday life. It is working with Me and My energy.
The selfish aspects that everyone carries within himself in different degrees gradually dissolve on the path I call the Inner Way. A transformation takes place that leads increasingly from the I to the you. In this way it can—indeed, ideally should—happen that already during earthly life a person begins to change and becomes more and more a giver instead of a taker. In any case, the admission ticket to heaven becomes available to him only when nothing of the taker remains and the giver has emerged in full stature.
With the knowledge that like attracts like, the question where the soul goes after bodily death answers itself: it goes where it “must” go, for it is attracted by the worlds of the beyond that correspond to its vibration, its development. And no one other than the human being himself is responsible for that. This is pure justice, because I do not determine what happens to him after death. I was there for the human being during his lifetime; and when his soul “changes sides,” I am in the same way within him in his existence as a spiritual being and with him in his new home.
If during his earthly years his consciousness has changed through his sincere effort, his new home will be correspondingly beautiful, light, bright, and very subtle. But even then his consciousness will still have to expand, for all levels must have been opened before the heavens open again to receive a returning child.
For all time I am within you. I am your life, otherwise you would not exist. But darkness too knows about each individual one of you, even if not to the same degree and depth as I and the angels who accompany you. Evil has never given up the struggle for energy, and that is why it is so important for you not merely to “drift through the day.”
And this especially in view of the fact that humanity faces a difficult time! See to it, My beloved, that as often and as well as is already possible for you, you are inwardly with Me. Otherwise you might be confronted unprepared with events that frighten you greatly. For the opposing forces have begun to intensify their activity in every area.
So be watchful and do not allow yourselves to be taken by surprise. With the knowledge—which you should keep recalling—that I live within everyone and at the same time walk with everyone who asks Me to, you have the best inner foundation you could wish for.

1) The dogma probably most frequently cited to emphasize that life occurs only once was proclaimed in the year 543 at the synod of the Eastern Church in Constantinople. Background: It concerned some teachings of Origen (185–254 AD). Origen did not know eternal punishments of the kind found in the later prevailing idea of hell. In his view, even the devil will one day be redeemed. This teaching, known as apokatastasis, was rejected for the first time in 543, when the opponents of Origen obtained from Emperor Justinian I an edict listing in ten points non-orthodox teachings of Origen, which the Council of Constantinople in 553 then condemned and on that basis declared Origen a heretic. It reads:
“Whoever says or maintains that human souls had a prior existence, that is, that they had previously been spirits and powers, but that they had grown weary of the divine vision, turned to evil, therefore grown cold in the love of God, thus received the name ‘souls,’ and as punishment for this were confined in bodies, let him be excluded.”
This article of faith remains valid today.

2) The Cathars, together with the spiritually related Bogomils, were the largest heretical movement of the Middle Ages. The faith of the Cathars contained many elements of early Christianity. Reincarnation was among them. They rejected the existence of a hell in the beyond into which an allegedly punishing God condemns sinners forever, for every human being is his own judge under the law of sowing and reaping. Even in the most sinful person, the light of God is at work and will lead him back into the realm of good.
