Our children’s lives
belong to love.
In them, however, it shows us
not only its beauty,
but also its wounds
and its tears of sadness.
In our children’s suffering
the wound marks of love emerge;
through this we share
in their pain.
When our hearts are crucified
at the sight of our children’s suffering,
we can touch the heartache
of love itself.
