you begin to sense in life’s struggle

and your godless desire.
In this humiliation you become aware

and your self-deception,
to love you even there
unconditionally.
This was made possible
by the crucifixion.
Through it,
God’s inviolable holiness submitted
forever and ever
to divine mercy.
