Divine Revelation
My beloved sons and daughters, the time in which you live is a special time in many respects. Yet above all, it is marked by the fact that the confrontation between light and darkness is moving toward a provisional climax—indeed, that it is virtually “racing” toward this point. This is obvious to those who have developed or preserved an inner feeling and a way of thinking that no longer bind them to their fears and notions, to their wanting and wishing.
Anyone who does not yet feel this inner freedom within himself is in many cases subject to the temptation to perceive what he sees and hears—usually only in a limited way—yet he is unable, or unconsciously refuses, to draw the obvious conclusions from it.
He does not yet possess, or perhaps no longer possesses, the important ability to recognize that, for example, 2 x 2 = 4, because within him, without his noticing it himself, everything resists lining up facts and drawing the only correct result from them. Many things can cause a person, spiritually speaking, to become immune to what is obvious, to the truth. Ignorance plays an important role in this, for it too belongs to the tools that the darkness has used successfully for as long as humanity can remember.
Anyone who, without thinking for himself, believes what those above him at the levers of power in politics, business, and religion present to him is easy to control. He then directs his thinking and actions according to standards he no longer examines to see whether they correspond to My universal commandment of love. In this way he very often acts in the interests of the opposing forces, which pull out all the stops to bind him to themselves—spiritually and energetically—and in this way make the soul’s development more difficult or even prevent it.
Ignorance is only one of many ways of restricting your freedom. In most cases, however, it forms the foundation for conduct that strengthens your ego and is intended to make it difficult for you to leave once-established tracks again quickly.
Since there is no chance anywhere in creation, it is therefore no chance that so many of My human children go through life as if blind and deaf and often overlook even the clearest signs announcing a drastic change. The explanation is obvious and easy to understand if you know and also acknowledge that, at the core of your being, you are creatures born of My divine freedom, who still carry this freedom deep within their souls:
Then “someone, somehow” must have succeeded in taking your freedom from you, or in preventing beforehand that you ever gain a sense of the incredible possibilities promised and offered by the freedom you carry within you as My gift. Yet even if you know that you are creatures of My love, radiant sons and daughters of the heavens who are fundamentally beyond limitation, this does not automatically lead you to consider whether you have already begun to unfold some of the abilities within you, or whether you even recognize the necessity of becoming, step by step, beings who are on their way home to their origin.
For the meaning and purpose of your earthly life is to gain insights and put them into practice, so as to grow and mature in love in soul and spirit and overcome what is all too human. And ultimately to take possession again of what has been yours from eternity—which includes your freedom.
I taught nothing else as Jesus of Nazareth, in many details and countless parables. It can be reduced to the simple denominator: love—and nothing else! Whatever beyond this is praised as necessary for salvation, no matter in which of your many religions, carries the danger that you will become unfree human beings who, after the death of the body, will inevitably continue to live as unfree souls. It is meant to bind you to forces whose only intention is to make you suppliers of energy and, if possible, after your transition into the beyond, to incorporate you into the great army of those who depend upon their favor.
There are many other ways of taking away your freedom without your noticing it. One of the most frequently used is to let many things become a “dear habit” to you. If such patterns are practiced over a long period, they become a part of you that you hardly wish or are hardly able to do without. Then the question often no longer arises whether it is good or right, important or meaningful to think and act in one way or another; instead, the person is subject to an automatism that determines his inner and outer reactions.
The first steps into unfreedom have thereby been taken. No one can exclude himself from this, and therefore the point is not—never is!—to denounce such conduct as “sin.” I do not condemn! But because I love you, I point out the numerous traps My opponent and yours has set in order to harm you. Only when you recognize them are you able to behave differently and change something where it is appropriate in the sense of love and freedom. One way of doing this is to practice saying no, at the next opportunity, to a habit you have practiced until now.

The freedom your soul knows, because you were born in it and lived in it, cannot be described in your words. In quiet moments one or another of you may already succeed in sensing within himself a faint intimation of this divine freedom. Surely this is then connected with inner feelings of radiant light and boundlessness, oneness with everything, and love for all. But however beautiful such moments may be, they are nothing compared with the freedom into which you will enter when I take you into My arms again.
The darkness also knows about the longing for freedom anchored in every soul. — As an aside: It knows, moreover, far more about you than you suspect. — And because it knows your needs and wishes, even those you yourselves do not know or do not want to admit, it makes you tailor-made offers and underpins them with the assertion that, as free people, you may do and leave undone whatever you want.
In which it is right; it merely conceals from you that there is a law of sowing and reaping that stands above its invitations and recommendations and always, in every case, ensures that balance is restored and that what has fallen out of harmony is brought back into harmony.
Freedom is one of the most beautiful gifts I have given My children, and that I still give now and will give for all eternity, for My creation does not stagnate. It knows no end. But with this gift comes the task of using it responsibly for the benefit of your own development and for the benefit of your neighbor. It was inevitable, then, that the darkness would seize upon this point and lead you astray, just as it did in falsifying My teaching by turning the signpost by a few degrees:
It set before you and made attractive to you a pseudo-freedom, decorating it with much colorful deception and apparent advantages. In the same way, it holds out to you a pseudo-security that in reality makes you highly unfree and binds you more and more. In doing so it exploits the human weakness of taking, whenever possible, the path of least resistance, so as to encounter as little opposition as possible and have things as easy as possible.
Thus, figuratively speaking, very few people notice that they are sitting in a cage which—depending on what is required—may even have been gilded for one or another of them. If asked about their “cage freedom,” most would vehemently deny that their freedom had been restricted. Yet what real freedom means is largely foreign to you. It does not mean being able to do and leave undone whatever you want; rather, it means the opposite:
Without great effort, and out of free will whose foundation is love for Me, not doing something even though many things urge you toward it and the offers are tempting. That is freedom!

It is no exaggeration when I say that many people hang like marionettes from the strings of the opposing forces. Their thoughts and striving are for the very greatest part directed toward making their earthly life as comfortable, safe, and trouble-free as possible. And yet they do not succeed. Too many influences make their existence difficult, influences they cannot avoid; for they—meaning humanity as a whole—live on matter and thus in the midst of evil’s sphere of rule, and at the same time they are subject to the effects of the law of sowing and reaping. It makes no difference whether the causes were set in this life or hundreds and thousands of years ago.
No energy is ever lost, and negative energy loses its influence only when it is transformed into positive energy. This happens exclusively through love, although in many cases it is a “difficult birth,” whose labor pains are not punishment but are necessary in order to establish a just balance. To begin this process and, with My help, bring it successfully to completion, insight, remorse, turning back, and—where possible—making amends are needed.
Answer for yourselves the question whether humanity is already far enough along to take this path of purification voluntarily … or whether it is farther from doing so than ever before.
Many of you find it difficult to recognize your unfreedom. This “no-longer-being-able-to-perceive” has arisen as a consequence of your attention being directed again and again toward matter, so that your earthly life, for all the importance and necessity it currently has for you, has acquired a false priority for you. If, in addition, you live under difficult external conditions, it is all the easier for the opposing forces to shut everything spiritual out of your consciousness. There is then no time for it, because you are occupied with providing for your physical well-being or simply surviving.
If you have succeeded in doing this—which in your Western world, at least in the past, was the rule and no problem for the great majority—your interest is directed toward many things presented to you for entertainment, for increasing your small or large wealth, and for much else besides. In this way the honest, searching inquiry into the meaning of your existence, one that does not stop again after the first answers, cannot even begin to be practiced.
The attachment to matter, and thus to your earthly life, made possible by your spiritual ignorance, is the most dangerous strategic move of all that the darkness has carried out unnoticed against you; for it has consequences for your future existence in the beyond and for possible further earthly lives. The attachment that has arisen as a consequence of your unfreedom is your opponent’s strongest weapon.1)
Although all those who call themselves Christians know through My teaching that there is no death—which at the same time means that everyone has eternal life—they behave as though the most important thing were how this, the present life, is arranged.
Consider, for example, the relationship—which should rightly be called a glaring disproportion—between the often encountered effort to return your earthly, perishable body to the earth in the “proper manner appropriate to the circumstances” and the preparations concerning the continued life of your soul in the beyond. It is only one example among many that represents an attachment; there are infinitely many more. But the purpose of My revelations is not to spare you the thinking, seeking, and finding by listing satanic maneuvers and arts of seduction. My words will, however, be a help to you if they prompt you to examine yourselves in order to recognize your attachments.
Even though the disproportion just mentioned is rarely visible to the extent you are experiencing it on the present occasion—the so-called death of one of your respected and honored sisters—you are given here the opportunity to reflect upon My words.
Such reflection includes considering how you prepare for a longer journey in earthly life. There is much to think about, and some things are carefully planned down to the last detail. In any case, far more time and effort is spent arranging the journey ahead than on making your present home perfect right up to the last moment or celebrating the departure exuberantly.
Many among you at least sense that they are beginning a new stage of their journey when they take their final breath on earth. Certainly it belongs to good order to arrange, in earthly matters too, what needs to be arranged; among other things this includes the distribution of your possessions, the course of your funeral, and the design of the grave.
But no arrangements, however detailed and however strongly desired or prescribed, have any influence whatsoever on a bright and light continuation of life in the beyond. Your immediate experience after death and, following that, your existence in subtle worlds are determined by other criteria.
They are criteria known to all who call themselves Christians. Around 2,000 years ago, as Jesus of Nazareth, I explained them to people in many of My discourses, and they can still be read in your Scripture today. The argument “I do not know whether or how things continue” therefore does not withstand closer examination.
The point is that a human being uses his time on earth to mature in soul and spirit. This happens by living My chief commandment, “Love God, your Father, and your neighbor as yourself.” Nowhere is it written that he must already fulfill it perfectly, but his effort to do so must be serious. For only through love lived out do his consciousness and the condition of his soul change for the better. The two are closely connected and decisive for where and how he continues to live in the worlds beyond the separating, invisible curtain!
The positive change in a person’s conduct that brings him closer to Me and is the prerequisite for his soul, after laying aside the body, to enter higher-vibrating spheres of the beyond, I call “inner work.” In countless revelations I have described it in great detail.
So the point is to change something; for no change, whether toward good or toward evil, takes place by itself. It is triggered either by the law of cause and effect or by an impulse that leads to a free decision of the will. And then, My beloved, it is always about doing—provided the goal is a good goal in the sense of love for God and neighbor.

Many of My human children have allowed themselves to be seduced into thinking that believing in Me is all that is required. At the same time, they have thereby allowed themselves to be bound in a way that makes it difficult for them to recognize this attachment as such, let alone to dissolve it. They have become unfree.
How skillfully the darkness has woven a false teaching here over a period of many centuries and wrapped it in such a way that the great majority of Christians place their priority on belief in God! In doing so, it used those who held, and still hold, the say at the centers of power in your religions and churches.
If, instead of saying “I believe in God,” you put it this way: “I believe what He has told me or tells me,” then you come much closer to the origin of My teaching. But this would also entail for you the obligation to put into practice what you believe, what you recognize as good and right and as coming from My wisdom.
For what sense does it make to say and believe that a stovetop is glowing hot—and nevertheless place your hands on it? If you still say that you believe the one who warned or instructed you, what is such belief worth?
The background of this and other falsifications and distortions is and remains always the same: that you take with you into your new home in the beyond an inner feeling and a way of thinking acquired in matter and therefore a soul-body shaped accordingly. “What is so bad about that?” some may think:
Because you find your future home where, as a spiritual being, you are automatically drawn on the basis of the condition of your soul! This is determined by the spiritual law of attraction.
The point is not to frighten you with a so-called purgatory or even an eternal hell—which in any case does not exist as a place of permanent, that is, temporally unlimited, deterrence—but to sensitize you to orient your thoughts and striving toward love lived out while you are still alive. I wish for you to find your later home—which is always only temporary because everything in My creation is eternal development—on levels where the influences of negative forces are no longer effective.
In any case, it is not possible to get, so to speak, “in one leap” from earth into heaven. Whoever wishes to enter heaven must bring heaven with him; he must carry it within himself, something no human being can achieve in this perfection. But already on the higher stages of development that you can reach, satanic influence is no longer effective. From there the way “forward” lies open before you.
Then many of your spiritual friends and helpers will lovingly show you how you can continue to develop. You will be supported in a selfless and brotherly and sisterly way, to a degree still foreign to you. This will awaken or strengthen your longing to orient yourselves even more toward Me, the source of your eternal life.
That is not in the interests of My opponent and yours, for little by little he would—and he will, though only in the distant future—lose his “little sheep.” Therefore he does everything he can to keep you in ignorance and, as a result, in unfreedom without your noticing it. And this simultaneously means binding you in many ways and making you dependent. Ultimately it is about energy, which the darkness constantly and urgently needs. From Me it receives only a minimum of energy, just enough to keep its life going on a low flame.
That is the main reason why, unnoticed by you, it attacks you without interruption and tries to bring you down, or at least to entice you into conduct that does not correspond to My commandment of love. In doing so it holds out to you a freedom that does not deserve the name.
But it is not only the great temptations that make you unfree if you succumb to them. Near the top of the list are ideologies and articles of belief, which make you unfree especially when they are defended vehemently, something that not infrequently leads to fanaticism. But many of your patterns of conduct, especially those that have become habits, also carry within them the potential to become an attachment.
If My words have made you thoughtful, the wish can arise in you to recognize attachments and become free of them. You can do this through an honest assessment, especially if you ask Me to help you. For it is My wish to free you from bonds of many different kinds.
So come to Me in a quiet hour. I will help you recognize your attachments. With Me this will happen in a way that brings you to them in “well-measured doses,” so to speak, without overwhelming you. Of course, it may happen that you are surprised—perhaps even startled once or twice—at the corners into which attachments have virtually withdrawn so as not to be recognized by you.
Then, My beloved, a little work awaits you, provided you decide to take with Me the necessary steps into freedom; this means practicing new conduct in one point or another. But precisely then I am at your side. That is a promise!
As you become more sensitive in recognizing things in yourselves, it is inevitable that you will also discover unfreedoms in your neighbor. Then remember that it is not your task to judge them. If your assessment was and is honest, and your wish is to change something within yourselves, you will in any case have enough to do with yourselves.
In this connection I remind you that the best and, in the long run, still the most effective way of “influencing” your neighbor in a positive sense is always to lead by good example. I once gave you a word that applies not only to the subject of today’s revelation but should run through your whole life. It makes you free if you practice the wisdom it contains and finally apply it:
“You are responsible for the sowing, not for the harvest. Leave the harvest to Me.”

My revelatory word today is marked by great seriousness appropriate to your time, but that does not mean love is absent from it. Everything that comes from Me is permeated by My love. Yet in what I say to My human children, I do not orient Myself according to whether it fits their notions or not. My truth and wisdom are eternal, that is, without beginning and without end. This is equivalent to saying that they are unchangeable. They are part of My law, in which the bringing back of all fallen creatures is anchored.
Everything is moving toward the fact—without anyone being able to prevent it—that I will take all back into My Fatherly arms. Everything—with your human words you would say: My thinking, speaking, and doing—is directed toward restoring the unity that was lost. I have the power, the will, and the means to do so. And I employ everyone and everything so that this goal will be reached.
For I miss every single one of you.

as long as you have forgotten the measure
by which God the Creator measures us.
You call the deed good or evil;
better ask whether it binds or frees!
And then, then you know what you yourself are like.
