Divine Revelation

My beloved sons and daughters, everything you inwardly feel, think, say, and believe you know about Me, the Source of your life—of all life—is far, far removed from what I truly am. In its depth My nature cannot be grasped by any creature, because I am everything—and because apart from Me there exists only what I have created!

Because I am love, it is and remains My greatest desire to communicate with everything that has come forth from this love. If such thoughts are new to you and the corresponding ideas still unfamiliar, then use an image as an aid: Put yourselves in the position of a loving father or mother and ask yourselves whether you would not sincerely wish to build with your child or children an intimate, loving, trusting, and lasting relationship that is mutual. Then you have the answer.

When your children are still small, you will use a different language and different images from those you use later. From a certain age onward, every child becomes aware that it still has to grow and learn much. And it will strive joyfully toward this process, especially when it notices in its own progress the advantages that growth brings. At some point, however, a limit will be reached at which the parents can no longer impart anything more of themselves.

The limit in what I want to bring close to you is given solely by the narrowness of human consciousness and not by any unwillingness on My part to teach you more or to keep My wisdom to Myself. Consciousness does expand, however, and can then recognize and grasp more when the human being begins to put love into practice in life. So that people could begin doing this at all in everyday life, I, as Jesus of Nazareth, used simple images that I clothed in parables. In this way it was possible for Me to create an understanding that the true nature of the human being is immortal and that the true home of My child is with Me, in eternity and infinity.

With this, the cornerstone for further development of the soul was laid. It was a cornerstone, nothing more! No one can seriously assume that My wisdom had no more to say and teach than what was possible for Me in the short span of My life as Jesus. But I adapted My teaching to the limited receptivity of the people of that time, which was conditioned by their ignorance. Much of this has not changed to this day.

And yet I created a foundation that contained then, still contains today, and will contain for all eternity everything necessary for successful progress on the way back to Me. I summed up My teaching in the universal commandment of love for God and neighbor, which is valid for all human beings—whatever religion, race, or culture they belong to—as well as for all beings in your material universe and all souls in the subtle realms.

The goal, and also the way by which everyone can reach it, were thus defined clearly and unmistakably. There could therefore be no disagreement about what needed to be done and left undone: love—and nothing else.

*

Alongside the distortion of My teaching, the strategy of the opposing forces also included the attempted suppression of further knowledge through My revealed word, which for many centuries I have given through sons and daughters who are faithful to Me. Thus, among other things, many people hold the mistaken view that alongside the heavenly world I also created the earthly world, and therefore the human being, “out of nothing.” This had and still has the consequence that My children know nothing of the principle of evolution that has been the foundation of My creation from the beginning.

In many revelations I have explained to you that everything in My creation is evolution, that everything builds upon what came before, that everything is unceasing growth that will never end—even if this idea overtaxes human understanding. Your scientists have never been satisfied to regard the knowledge they have acquired at any given time as the summit of what can possibly be reached. Human nature always strives to look behind things, to learn more and understand more than what is visible at the moment.

Look at the various branches of your science and you will recognize that progress has been and continues to be made in every field. Only one “science” has been excluded by humanity from further discovery: the science of God, which you call “theology.” Whoever studies medicine today learns incomparably more than was taught a few centuries ago. Whoever studies theology has for as long as anyone can remember been served the same information, theories, and conclusions. In this respect you remain at a long-outdated level that moreover never possessed much truth. In this field, unlike all others, a rigidity has set in that prevents every change and expansion of consciousness.

Whoever feels called—and there are many whom I touch inwardly—to help his fellow human beings in their spiritual and character development, to give them comfort and support and to be an example, must use his heart. Without heart there is no empathy and no recognition of deeper motives and causes. A true “pastoral caregiver” can do without knowledge acquired through formal study. It can even tempt him to place the emphasis of his practical guidance for life and direction-setting upon the dead letter and upon tradition.

The forces of darkness that work against Me and against you permit new knowledge and new insights wherever these do not harm their interests. Exploration of outer space threatens their existence no more than advances in physics, mathematics, or chemistry. But where the issue is that human beings free themselves from the bonds of negative forces by striving, according to My instruction and with My support, for a life of love, they do everything they can to prevent the evolution of the soul.

They do permit head-knowledge there as well, because such knowledge—merely read and stored up—cannot become dangerous to them; it remains in the head and triggers nothing in the heart. But as soon as it is a matter of putting My commandments into practice in daily life, they become more than alert: They block—or at least try to block—even beforehand everything that could serve My own as enlightenment, and in this way make it difficult even for the willing to walk the way to Me with joy and success.

My sons and daughters, make use of the logic of the heart, which is part of My fatherly instruction, so that independent and self-responsible thinking may arise within you; and use your intellect to recognize the gravity of the manipulation described and its consequences!

When I said that everything is subject to continual evolution, every soul and every human being is included in this, therefore you as well. This means that you carry within yourself the ability and are given the possibility to unfold further and further, on this side or in the beyond. Eventually your soul will have reached a degree of maturity that makes further development in brighter spheres possible for you. Then another life in matter, a physical rebirth, is no longer necessary. You have moved away from the binding demonic sphere of influence and strive toward My light and your true life.

The principle of evolution also underlies the inner work I teach you. This means that the development of your soul too is a process in which one thing builds upon another. Therefore with Me there is no “You must” and there are no prohibitions. If that were the case, I would be demanding or requiring from you something you were not capable of. For, when building a wall, upon what would you place the third row if the second did not yet exist?

I am freedom, and I have given all My children the freedom to do and refrain from doing according to their will. This fundamentally excludes intervention on My part; but at the same time it also means that the originator of an action directed against My commandment of love places himself under the law of cause and effect. He is therefore not “punished” by Me, as your scribes falsely proclaim. To leave someone free will and then hold him accountable when and because he uses it is a contradiction raised to the third power.

Freedom also includes the valuable opportunity—unfortunately not recognized by many—to work step by step, with My help, on refining one’s character. This is equivalent to the soul becoming brighter and therefore freeing itself from burdens, as well as growing into inner freedom, because with Me the human being gradually loosens his bonds. And now I reverse a phrase from the Lord’s Prayer: When and how, indeed whether you, My child, walk this path at all happens according to your will! Your decision changes nothing about My love for you.

For My love is selfless; that means it does not depend on how you behave. Nor does it judge you by your past. You yourself created your past. I came into the world to free you from the fetters of your past, if you wish this and if you are ready to take My hands, which I lovingly extend toward you.

I return to the image I gave you: to the goal of returning home into My arms, as I brought it close to you in the parable of the prodigal son; of immersing yourself again in that place and remaining there for all eternity, toward which the longing in your soul draws you.

As Jesus I showed you the goal, and I described the way that leads to this goal. But I gave you neither prohibitions nor compulsory rules, I did not put you under pressure, threaten you, or instill feelings of guilt in you. I taught you love—My love—and left you the freedom to walk in My footsteps. Or not to.

How could it happen that you no longer feel this freedom? That you do not feel truly joyful and free when you think of Me or wish to follow My commandments? Or that, as members of a religious community, you feel obligated to a way of thinking and behaving that does not correspond to My teaching? If you wish, try to find the answers yourselves. Many of you already sense them anyway.

*

After the “prodigal son” had decided to return to his father’s house, the next decision arose: When must which step be taken? Must steps be taken at all? Or is it enough to make the appropriate preparations? Or perhaps is it even sufficient simply to believe in the father?

The son in My parable did what each one of you does in a similar or identical situation: He “moved.” Every journey begins with a first step. This applies also to everyone who sets out on the way to Me. Every following step can be taken only because there was a step before it. If in your simplicity you tried to skip a step in order to reach the goal more quickly, you would stumble and perhaps even fall and would quickly notice that it does not work that way.

Why, then, should I, the One who knows you through and through with all your strengths and weaknesses—and who nevertheless loves you unconditionally—expect anything from you other than steps that build upon one another? I know your abilities and qualities, in which your past is reflected, and I know your peculiarities as well; I know all that is already possible for you and all that is still difficult. But I am love that understands all and forgives all, and I prepare your steps, if you wish to take them, with care and in a way adapted to your possibilities. They are small steps that in their sum, however, represent a priceless treasure you have acquired with My help. (1)

Things are different if you do not leave the preparations to Me, indeed if you reject altogether walking at My hand and by free decision create your own law. That may go well for a while, but inevitably the time will come when the causes you set yourself flow out as effects, sometimes with, sometimes without warning. Yet even then it is never too late to come to Me in the realization of your own wrong conduct, as the prodigal son did.

I draw your attention to two of several obstacles waiting for you on your way, whose neglect often leads to dissatisfaction and disappointment. They can rob you of the joy in our shared path and cause your watchfulness and seriousness to diminish, so that you perhaps become sluggish, lose desire, and finally turn into a fellow traveler without initiative of your own.

The first obstacle concerns the foundation.

It is indispensable that a foundation arise within you on which everything that follows can be built. That sounds more difficult and perhaps worse to you than it is. What is meant is the motivation for your decision to bring Me to your side. Why did the prodigal son want to return home to his father? Because through the circumstances in which he lived and under which he suffered he came to realize that he had done something wrong. The memory of a long-past love was awakened, and longing was kindled within him. He wanted to find his way back to this love that he had lost. He gave expression to this desire sustained by his love. If he had wanted to go home merely to escape his poor living conditions, without a change of heart having taken place within him, what do you think? Would the gates to his father’s house have opened through such a selfish and uncomprehending motivation?

What, then, constitutes a stable foundation? Can it withstand the storms of your life if it rests only upon membership or upon having been born into a religion? Love for God, your Father, is the ideal foundation for the house that we together allow to arise stone by stone, ever more beautiful and larger. Even if your love is still small, it is nevertheless a wonderful seed. Let it become your foundation, let it grow through your decision, and rejoice over every successful step, for it serves as preparation for the next. In this way the building of your house progresses, and you can increasingly enjoy the fruits of your work.

The second obstacle concerns the sequence of your “building project.”

Impatience is not a divine quality. It often arises from not knowing about the indispensable step-by-step building of your consciousness and character. But it also has its cause in the lack of readiness to recognize and undertake the small inner tasks of daily life.

“Is it really so important to stop thinking disparagingly about my neighbor? Is it not far more sensible and more promising to tell the ‘whole world’ about God? Surely in that way I can do something for God far more effectively and make my contribution to the greater whole more readily!”

Do such or similar thoughts seem familiar to you, My child? Be honest with yourself and do not fool yourself. Look at your motives, and do not hesitate also to ask yourself about fanaticism. Otherwise you run the risk of wanting to put the roof structure on your house before stable walls are standing. Your house will not endure in this way; when the “wind of effects” blows around its walls, it will collapse. Then belief that I make no mistakes all too quickly dissolves into nothing …

Only when the foundation is largely in place can the walls be raised, walls made up of the small steps of daily life. Try increasingly to make the saying “Live in such a way that people ask you” your guiding principle and thereby become an example. At the same time this fosters your patience and your trust in the law of spiritual attraction, which ensures that at exactly the right time you meet exactly the right people. In this way you will “missionize” lawfully, through what you are and radiate.

*

Because everything is subject to My law of evolution, you will—although I say this with a smile—have to acknowledge, whether you like it or not, that your neighbor is not excluded from it either, even if this concession is perhaps not easy for you. This means that he too, with his free will, has the right to appeal to the “small steps,” whether he says so or not. This applies, My child, also to your family members and people close to you. Their conduct, often incomprehensible and inexplicable in your eyes, is to be tolerated in love just as you may already be able to tolerate it in people you do not know or scarcely know. For you do not truly know your neighbor’s past, his inner blockages, or the seriousness of his intention to want to change something.

If you are still evaluating, judging, or condemning because you look only at your neighbor’s conduct and outward motives—because recognizing the deeper causes is not yet possible for you—there is still a need to strengthen your foundation. If you truly want to help him, you will not be able to avoid learning to sense what he actually needs in this moment and in the present situation. You will have to learn, and My love will help you, to grasp intuitively your neighbor’s degree of spiritual maturity and thereby recognize what he truly wants to say and needs—regardless of how he presents himself and how he expresses himself.

If for the most varied reasons it is not yet possible for you to communicate with your neighbor in love, then include him in your prayer; place him before Me and leave everything further to Me. My law will guide him, in the way that is right and best for him. The energy of love you send him through your prayer and your good thoughts will be available to him in the change that lies ahead for him. Do not expect something to change immediately, above all do not expect your neighbor to behave in the way you consider right. You do not know his past; therefore the steps lying ahead of him that are beneficial for his soul are also unknown to you.

The principle of evolution described, governing every development whether it proceeds quickly or slowly or is small or large in scope, never changes the goal toward which everything moves inexorably: the reunion of all creatures with Me, their origin. My unconditional love accompanies everyone, including the beings from the Fall who still act with the unlawful intention of destroying everything.

For My love, which I can express for you only in words and place into your inner feelings in blissful moments, it makes no difference where you stand or what you have caused. If you wish to return home, it is completely irrelevant whether you do so from the starting position of a “great sinner” or a “half-saint.” I am at your side without ifs or buts; I do not judge or condemn. I am love, which includes divine justice and applies equally to all.

Amen

The Way to God Is Made Up of Small Steps

The way to God is made up of small steps,

of what the mirror of your day reveals.

You need only ask Him for His help,

and you will see how He bends down to you.

You surely will not see Him as a thousand suns,

nor as the mighty ruler of worlds;

He shows Himself to you in infinitely subtle threads

and guides your forward steps with thoughtful care.

So you need never fear a stretch

of your path when He determines the way.

Only fear yourself, if you serve only your own ends;

then let your heart beware if it only takes,

for surely, as surely as Amen comes at the end,

your destiny will wrest from you what you took.

Therefore, human being, be wise and sow good seed,

and take care that you do not so often grow weary.
