Divine Revelation
My sons and daughters! For two thousand years humanity has known that I am love. Eternal, selfless and unconditional! The old, false image of God, which portrayed Me merely as the almighty Creator and God whom one had to honor and fear, was fundamentally corrected by Me in Jesus Christ. And yet the consequence of this, the experience made with My love, has truly reached only the very fewest hearts, because the forces of darkness succeeded in leaving people with only a diffuse knowledge of My infinite love, and because a life in and with this love—in and with Me—was declared hardly comprehensible or not comprehensible at all. In many revelations I have enlightened you about the background of why this is so, what happened from the invisible and still happens and expresses itself in the visible. Therefore that is not to be the subject today.
The distorted representation of My being, of My defining quality, has led humanity—and here Christianity in particular—to be content with being reminded of Me by outward things and superficialities, by traditions, decorative additions and beautiful words. Your Christmas feast offers a very special occasion to remember Me. My words of revelation given over many decades, and also the serious words of many of your brothers and sisters pointing to the true meaning of your feast and intended to encourage reflection and inward pause, have in only the rarest cases reached the hearts and initiated a turning around in thinking and acting.
Therefore today I want to give you a different Christmas message, one intended for all, but which above all is meant to fall—and will fall, if they take Me seriously—on fertile ground among those who endeavor to come closer to Me through their daily life, through following Me. I will speak about My relationship with you and your relationship with Me.*)
*
The relationship with My children—regardless of whether they currently live as human beings in matter, as souls in the subtle-material realms, or as purely spiritual beings in the heavens—the relationship with all My creatures is love! Have you ever thought about what follows from this? Let us consider together what the logic of the heart says about it.
When you love someone, the fulfillment of being loved in return certainly represents your greatest wish. Even if your love is selfless and unconditional, the joy you give through your actions is increased when you look into grateful and happy eyes. Your love is, as it were, crowned by the fact that something positive comes back. If through your selflessness you furthermore experience that not only outer circumstances have improved, but that an inner change has taken place, this will and may fill you with a “humble satisfaction.”
Love has brought forth love! This is a basic principle of My creation. In this way the negative is transformed into the positive, new life arises from ashes, wounds are healed, and finally perfection is restored.
Does it not follow from this that it is not only My wish that My children become love—again—but, so to speak, a necessity in the sense of My law? And that My children’s relationship with Me must likewise be built on love—if they want to return to Me? Is it already? Have you considered that our true life together, a togetherness that fulfills you and makes you happy, cannot consist merely in praising Me, approaching Me with reverence, and bowing before Me in your prayers and songs? Above all it cannot consist in fearing Me as a stern God?
For centuries—because of insufficient knowledge and an untrue teaching—the relationship of My children to Me was shaped by the idea that they had to glorify and praise their God and Creator in order thereby to show Him their esteem. Outwardly they built magnificent temples for Me in order to document the significance of My greatness. But they neglected the adornment of their own inner temple or did not consider it at all; and when they did, all too often it was with a false goal and the wrong means.
I need no homage, no description of My glory and greatness. I know My greatness, My power and My infinity! I am! I need your love and behavior that follows from it. That is the most beautiful and effective form of worship.
If those who believed and believe in Me wanted thereby to express that they acknowledge something greater than themselves, that they acknowledge a Creator, this was certainly a first step. But further steps must follow it, because belief in Me and admiration of My works are too little for living closely and intimately with Me. Everything I have created carries within it the ability to love. And only on this basis does a connection arise that brings happiness and fulfillment. In the heavens this is not merely self-evident; it cannot be otherwise. In the extra-heavenly spheres, including matter, this ability must first be learned again.
If you recognize the truth of My word, and if you feel that the prerequisite lies within you to build our relationship upon mutual love, the desire will arise within you to want to become love again. That means expressing this love more and more through action in your life. Then outward things, rites and traditions that you do not yet wish to give up so quickly, and in which you have until now felt comfortable and secure, lose more and more of their importance. They cannot give you what a relationship of love with Me that is lived out brings you: security, safety, freedom from worry and freedom. As you gradually unlock this within yourselves, you will no longer want to exchange it.
This is My Christmas message to you—to you and you and you, to every individual:
Become love again! Place our relationship on a new foundation. Let a foundation arise that gives you a security and freedom you have not known before. Decide that you want to change something—and then do it, with Me at your side, with My support.
In this way proclaim that I am not a God who sets value on praise, fame and honor, on fearful crouching and constricted behavior because guilt has been recognized, but rather that My children meet Me, their neighbor and themselves in love. Proclaim that I am a Father who longs for the love of His children; an all-understanding Father as well as a tender Mother, an all-encompassing and all-inclusive being into whose eyes you can look without fear and whom you can trust blindly, and whose arms are wide open to receive you.
*
Whether you wish to take this step is decided by you alone. Your free will is sacred to Me. If you wish to take it, then examine yourself as to whether in the depth of your heart you can already say: “Lord, teach me to love.” Feel the longing that lies within you and give it the space it seeks.
If you are ready to speak this short prayer—one of the most beautiful a child can address to his Father—then invisible and visible wonders will happen in your life. Invisible, because I will then be the great switch-setter who determines the future course of your life; and visible, because the effects of the threads drawn in the invisible will show themselves in your life. Such a prayer is a request that heaven always hears, and it leads immediately thereafter, even if not at once recognizable to you, to a change in the direction of your life.
This also answers the question that repeatedly arises in many hearts of good will: “My God, tell me or show me what You want from me.”
Is the commandment to love Me, your brother, your sister and yourself new to you? Certainly not. What may be new, however, is the realization that good intention alone is not enough to put this resolution into action. Many resolutions of this kind have failed and will fail again and again because one thing is not taken into account: just as one can communicate and pass on peace only if one carries it within, one can love only to the degree that love has already developed within the human being. Effort, that is action, must therefore be added to good intention. Only action initiates a gradual refinement of human being and soul that is also lasting.
You often make things unnecessarily difficult for yourselves when you occupy yourselves intellectually with what it means concretely to love your neighbor; while I repeatedly remind you that this is precisely where you must begin: with love for your neighbor, which presupposes love for yourselves. He is the mirror in your everyday life in which you can recognize yourselves. To the degree your love for people grows, you come closer to Me. Whoever believes he can love Me without having to take the “detour” through his neighbor is subject to a great error. This fatal error—arising from a teaching that indeed wrote love of neighbor on its banners but all too often did not practice it—has brought about the situation in which humanity finds itself today.
“What you have done for one of the least of My brothers, you have done for Me,” I said in substance as Jesus of Nazareth. Does this not inevitably lead to the realization that the way to My heart goes through “the least of your brothers”?
Do not complicate matters by searching for the form of love you should give your brother or sister. “What is love?” you often ask uncertainly. Love is a deep—the deepest and most beautiful—inner feeling of all, and it has infinitely many facets, for example the love between man and woman, between parents and their children, between friends. Take care not to stand in your own way by analyzing love so much that, for all your thinking, you never get around to putting My commandment into practice.
Just as love has many aspects, it also has many stages of development, developed differently in each person according to the strength of his soul. If it is still difficult for you to love because much remains within you that moves you emotionally at the sight or behavior of your neighbor, then begin by accepting him as he is. And do so without devaluing or condemning him. The next step might be to develop a greater or lesser degree of understanding for his situation. After all, you do not know his past. Friendliness, helpfulness and perhaps even goodwill are further stages on the path of practicing and thereby learning love of neighbor.
Whether and to what degree you succeed depends on many things. The decisive point is that you become clear that the ability to love already lies within you and can be developed; indeed, that at some point it must be developed in any case, because it is an indispensable requirement for being able to return to unity—regardless of how easy or difficult this may be in an individual case and how long it takes.
The desire to learn to love, directed to Me as a request, sets in motion the process of refining your being and of your soul becoming light. It is like the beginning of a wonderful partnership founded on trust grown through experience. The relationship is placed on “two feet,” both of which bear the name love.

If you endeavor to love, and love finally becomes more and more a part of your being, much that is positive follows from this for you, though this usually is not considered or recognized at first glance. In the eyes of My children the apparent difficulty of the often unfamiliar work of endeavoring toward honest, loving behavior so often stands in the foreground that the valuable benefit—which makes your life together easier and frees you from much—is overlooked.
I will give you an example. Every human being longs for freedom, even though opinions differ as to what true freedom means. I have often told you that the land of freedom into which I wish to lead you is waiting for you. Figuratively speaking, this primarily means an inner freedom. It can be reached only by one path, and here I again refer to the logic of the heart:
There is no greater freedom than in Me, for I am the Absolute that unites everything within itself, including freedom. Since you are from Me, created in My image—though not equal to God, yet endowed with many of My divine qualities—you also carry freedom within you! That it seems worth striving for is shown by the many ways in which people try to live freedom, or what they take to be freedom. Most of your attempts are doomed to failure from the outset because they rest on a false assumption: the belief that freedom can be bought, attained through one’s own exertion of will or the use of mental exercises, or that it will arise by itself when all fetters are removed.
Since fear, for example, is a great fetter—an inner one—it would, according to those who seek such solutions as the right ones, have to disappear as well. Is that so? Not at all, for an inner problem can never be remedied by outward measures! Where, then, must a successful beginning be made? Exclusively within! An inner change, a “reprogramming,” if it is to be lasting and not merely a cosmetic correction at the surface, can occur only if it includes your inner feelings and thinking and then your behavior. The opposite of freedom is dependency.
Dependency exists whenever the inner strength is not great enough to say no to influences that are in truth not wanted. Dependency is bondage, and it repeatedly tempts one to behavior that is not in the spirit of love, because—against better knowledge—it orients itself toward outer circumstances. One of the most widespread dependencies is the wish to please, the “begging” for recognition and love, and with it the inability to decide independently. In most cases this is not noticed by the person himself and is therefore often vehemently denied.
If I depended on My human children loving Me, by human standards I would have to be unhappy. But I am happiness and harmony—forever and ever! My “secret” is that I love! And not that I am loved! Herein lies your secret as well.
The desire to be loved is entirely understandable; every creature depends on love, and it receives this love without interruption in the form of My stream of life that pours itself out forever. But if a human being, as is the case with most, draws his balance and satisfaction solely from the fact that others recognize, respect and like him, such behavior is like a “dance on the edge of a knife.” His happiness and therefore his freedom are fragile. For if this outer affection is withdrawn, emotionally he will fall into a hole; his security, freedom and capacity to love can or will suffer harm unless the human being has previously sought and found refuge in Me.
He will undertake everything—consciously and unconsciously—to obtain the energy on which he depends in order to be reasonably happy and content. He thereby orients his behavior toward other people, toward their approval and affection, whether or not he knows or notices it. This is dependency to a high degree, and most people are affected by it to a greater or lesser extent. Dependency, however, is the opposite of freedom!
But there is a solution for this weakness that has existed worldwide since human memory began: it consists in “turning the tables” and, instead of drawing one’s—often merely apparent—balance and strength from being recognized, liked and loved, loving oneself. The first and greatest happiness therefore does not consist in receiving human love, but in giving love, which always brings with it an increased inflow of fulfilling and healing energy; this finally leads to an inner independence that cannot be achieved in any other way and is firmly anchored as longing in every soul.
That is—among other things—the reward of selfless love. Then the human being has begun with Me to enter the land of freedom. Is this not your desire too?
*
Among you it is customary to give one another gifts at Christmas, especially among friends and lovers. If you wish to give Me a gift—the greatest and most valuable there is—then let My words fall deeply into you and decide, with your free will, to express the desire to become love. In this way you bring an element into our relationship that will change everything.
Beyond the gifts I continually give all My children anyway in the form of My outpouring blessing of love, I will draw everyone who comes to Me with such a request very close to Me. My “special” gift consists in this: I can then lead you much more safely through the adversities of your life—can lead you, because you have given Me your yes. At the same time what you have always desired will grow within you: deep trust, unshakable security, a capacity to love you have not known before, and not least the freedom you long for.
The path that leads to this goal we will then walk hand in hand—as loving Father and loving child. And in this way you will fulfill your soul’s desire to become a proclaimer of My love through your life, which you have given to Me.
Amen
